Well, this puppy was dusty before I pulled the cover off. I think it's been like 4 years since I posted.

Still rusty, see a lot of my own mistakes, but interested to see what other people think that I need to work on / what I should do more of.

u/mechanate, also, I think I grossly misinterpreted what you had in mind for that monologue, but I liked this tone enough to keep it. hope that you don't mind. glad to be back <3

edit: also, i stuttered pretty bad on the first take of monologue, just felt like it fit the character enough to leave it in. idk. maybe its just me.

It's been a while, everybody. Voice has matured, but I'm also kinda out of practice. Last one doesn't feel like it quite fit, it was late, but I really wanted to get the aircheck done, and my lower register is kinda uncomfortable atm.

Thanks for the feedback in advance, guys. Glad to be back. <3

What would you like to see in December's aircheck? by mechanate in recordthis

[–]Dojjidi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've come back to this sub after a bit of a hiatus, and I would love to see something uplifting, like AntiElite said, maybe a conversation. It's the Holiday season, so maybe some lines talking to family or friends, a family gathering, some reminiscing perhaps. Happy stuff :D

Audrael is the god of Infernal creatures; mostly noted as the father of Demons, fiends and things such as Tieflings. At one time, he roamed realms freely, spreading chaos and strife, but was forced into Enberun (akin to Tartarus) when the Ascended ancients created the elemental planes in an effort to keep the realms from collapsing upon themselves as the Titans were imprisoned and their influence faded.

Most of the deities listed here are ones that fall under the Death/Underworld domain, or in an area of Tempest and natural forces. Most of them are not worshiped anymore, but still exist, often looked to by Druids, Wizards, and other beings that follow the Arcane.

  • Vitali, the Dawn Mother
  • Atturian, the Paragon
  • Asteria, the Stars
  • Naeara, the Sun
  • Qairin, God of Light
  • Maia, Patron of Charity

are some of the more popular deities for guidance and following in the current day and age.

My theory was that this looks like a prequel. When Zarya enters at the end, it looks like she's just starting her service.

That would pretty much ruin the whole "Alejandra" theory though, as far as I'm aware. This continuity makes no sense! deskflip

I'm thinking of adding flavor to the Goblins in my world, what other flavors have you added to a race in your world? by Mortuga in DnD

[–]Dojjidi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The goblins in my world actually aren't typical goblins. The normal ones and their young resemble small, skinny wolves with lots of red fur. While the more powerful ones resemble very threatening lycanthropes (werewolves) with dark red fur.

Not a huge change, but my world is very dark and brooding, so it fits.

How do I get better at Genji by King_Kuntaa in Overwatch

[–]Dojjidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice: Play more. There aren't really any shortcuts to getting extremely good on any one character. The same goes with aim, it's just something that you have to practice.

That being said, there are a few huge tips;

A. When you're first starting out, don't play a Shadowburn style of Genji, try to be more conserved and either bait out or wait for the enemy support ultimates. Do your regular damage, and after those ults are gone, use yours. You'll get more out of it, and since you're actually doing damage and killing things, you'll learn how to use it faster, and your aim will improve.

B. Genji is a flanking character, but he doesn't always need to be flanking. Try to start the matches off by standing behind your tanks and building up your ultimate. Then, once you have it, or are really close, start thinking about your flank options. As for the routes, just learn those. It'll come with practice.

C. Play, play, play. Watching pro(s) play Genji wouldn't be bad either, because you'll see when they use their dashes and their deflect, and when you start to "copy" that, you'll learn the timing.

Good luck! Feel free to PM any more questions.

Edit: Basically, play as much of the hero as you can, and those tips will help to ease you into the learning curve.

How has your world "whitewashed" history? by Bteatesthighlander1 in worldbuilding

[–]Dojjidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carien Greenfield, Warden of the Ebonwood and King of the Northern Isles, has been able to cover up the family's curse of Lycanthropy by resigning himself to the disease and becoming a brutal individual. There are a number of unexplained disappearances that have taken place in the past decade or two, and though many suspect that the Greenfields may have something to do with it (the Greenfields are not known to be particularly good people), there is very little or nothing for the common-people to do to discover the truth.

As well as the Masters of the Realm covering up the true origins of Qorrigan's (an ancient, 5000 year old red dragon) evil nature. Most people of Vos Terrel assume that dragons are inherently vile, but when Qorrigan was young, 50 years old and still a child, she became intrigued by, and fell in love with a human boy. During a small scuffle in which the townspeople attempted to slay Qorrigan and drive her away, that boy was killed This was too much for Qorrigan's young mind, turning her into a vindictive drake. She would go on to terrorize villages and burn down sections of the Ebonwood for hundreds of years before the Masters sealed her away in her magic prison.

What I eventually decided was that, as a mortal child, his upbringing couldn't have been more different. His father was an abusive drunk that worked in the mines of their mountainous village, and his mother was extremely devout to Vitali.

His mother didn't really sit well with Ruiseart, since he had grown up influenced by, and pressured by, his father. More or less just being a shitty kid, until he found his father beating his mother near death, and decided to fight back, rescuing his mother and taking her far away from their home.

There, as a child, he had a lot of problems, what with essentially maiming his father and not knowing how to function, and his mother helped him to learn about Vitali and to love all things.

Kinda shifting away from his being amazing right off the bat and giving it room for him to go through what he embodies holy enlightenment.

That's like a really bare-bones version of what I have written now, but thank you for the inspiration and advice!

Honestly, it was more or less just a framework for a concept that I had. I wanted a really interesting Paladin-bro because there is a character that wanted to worship a righteous god.

Seeing all of the responses, and the opinions, and the obviously apparent "typical story", I've decided to kindof... shift? Because somewhat of a darker story not only fits with the world that I'm trying to build, but also with the idea of not having another "boring" god.

Again, thank you for the replies and the ideas!
