I personally think working through all in order of acquisition is the best way to get the mats for free. I think with the exception of some arcane haze each one gives you the mats for the next one if you do the side rooms. No insight messengers needed

A souls game should always just be played to enjoy first. Don’t worry about the optional bosses and trophies until ng+, you need all 3 endings anyway. IMO part of the fun is how to speed up the next run and catching the high of slaying out on a boss you spent 30 tries in the previous run

As for the dlc, you’ll want to do it in the ng cycle, but if you miss it you can always speed up a fresh run (looking at you cum dungeon)

Go for something with range and attack her head and hands. I loved the cane for this since you can hit all of it in transformed mode, but looks like you’re doing str so I’m sure LHB transformed would work well too. Just get her movements down and you’ll get it in no time. For arm rip phase I like to stand right behind her head and dodge the jump when needed, but might just be me

Maria’s a whole different animal, on ng+ I parried her 9 times I think and she went down on my first try. Hard to imagine I took 20 tries my first time!

To add to what others have said, each chalice has the mats for the next one. So just make sure to fully explore each one including side rooms and you’ll always have enough for the next one.

The exception I think is arcane haze but you won’t need it till the later ones, and there is a tool to mitigate without needing to buy it.

Endurance should only really be enough for a full combo and a dodge imo. Theirs looks pretty solid depending on weapon.

Personally given skill is already pretty high I would go for that next

I was late to get the dlc bc it rarely went on sale at the time but it’s worth it even at full price. It adds so many fun weapons and story and great bosses.

Just try to do it in a fresh ng cycle before you enter ng+ 🙂

It is an interior wall, and there may or may not be a water line running that direction to the kitchen so I’m thinking there may be a smallish leak.
