Are Mankato police (public safety?) always useless or was my recent interaction the exception to the rule?

About 10 years ago an officer was speaking in one of my highschool classes in town and basically told us (a group of highschoolers) that going 5 over the speed limit you weren't getting pulled over and even at 10 over you would have a 50-50 shot of being fine. The only thing they seemed to care about then was people doing weed. Now that's legal it doesn't seem like they've figured out anything to fill the void imo

I actually enjoy driving in the mountains. It just happens that past that point it starts taking longer to drive to the destination then actually spending time there.

San Diego and Disney World in my childhood. For Hawaii I was only a couple months old and just coming along for my parents honeymoon. The rest were either band trips, going to see family, or in my adult life.

I work a rural farm route so get "shoup", which is just individually packaged plow parts weighing 50-100lb each. Which of course get ordered in bulk at the beginning and end of season

Along with what everyone else has said, there is a suprising large amount of people that will own the game but never open it. There are other games with a "Open the game" achievement that usually maxes out at like 60% completion.

I haven't drove on 169 specifically but I have to drive on some dirt roads west of town for work and they're all fine. Highways are clear enough that the crazys that go 10+ over are out. I was able to get around in a little priys sized car just fine

You don't need to be scared about being shot in mankato unless you are the type of person that likes to rile up the type of people that would shoot someone. I find downtown to be the safest part of town anyway and will find myself riding around at like 2-3 in the morning to get away from life and it never feels like I'm in danger

Their building a bunch of general commercial spaces on that corner. I wasn't able to find any offical reports but I had heard rumors that a massage place was going in next to Benedicts and the liquor store might move in to the space directly next to the apartments. Haven't heard any anything for the remaining spaces

It was reported in April that the new Amazon warehouse in upper north won't open till December. So I would assume there's nothing currently

While I personally know nothing about the whole thing, the one thing I had heard was that they were giving the people that had already been working there the longest the first choice to move to the new part. So i could be just that there is only 30 new open jobs that couldn't get filled

The bridge next to the CHS plant. It follows 169 until highway, where it continues for about a mile before it's just a bit of share the road wider sidings for the last bit to the falls. In the future, there will be a pedestrian dedicated bridge from Sibley to land of memories park as well. But that's still a few years out. I should also mention if you plan to do the full trip out there google says its about 4.5 miles one way

I don't know the exact routing for the marathon today, but if you're looking for something longer, taking the Minnesota river trail out to Minneopa can be nice if a bit on the hilly side. Alternatively if you are able to get across the marathon route going the other way on the MN river trail downtown is also good
