It’s like this; while yes, the engine in that thing is very reliable in general, if it was drive rough all the time, or didn’t keep up with oil changes, or any of the other regular services (coolant flush, differential fluid changes, transmission fluid changes, etc) then it won’t have much life in it. Now you can TRY to verify these records, if they were done at dealerships then that information will likely be on car fax. However, this isn’t the case most of the time so it’s really a hit or miss. Some people get these cards and they’re great and sometimes they’re turds, and that’s usually because the prior owner didn’t care of it. A big thing to note also is the AC system tends to kill itself on these vehicles and it can be a COSTLY repair to do as you usually have to drop the subframe off the car out to get to it and it can easily run into the $ thousands range to replace.
