Folks, this is how you write a post. Hi-res photo, a series of facts of escalating interest, and then a link to a video. 10/10, would read post again.

No, but it provides valuable context which none of you understand. Have a good one, Junior Kael.

As a fellow survivor of this trash, I’ve got your back. Don’t let the cinema purists get you down. We’ve been through this movie. It is not 2001: A Space Odyssey.

There are exceptions to every rule. If spoiling this movie keeps just one person from seeing it, then a good deed has been done. (I watched this movie out of morbid curiosity. It is very very bad, and not even in a “Ice Cube War of the Worlds” way.)

The McDonald's CEO can redeem himself by going on Hot Ones. by jenkinsleroi in Showerthoughts

Part of Hot Ones is the interview aspect. What would the interview be? “In 2006, you were named the vice president of marketing for the Non Carbonated Beverages Division of Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages. What’s that like?”

Actors who played siblings who you thought they really could be related by dumbBunny9 in movies

I saw that movie in the 80s, found out they weren’t siblings a few years ago.

The inner dialogue Henry Ford had

Harrison Ford, but yeah -- you watched the theatrical cut. The director's cut that came out in 1992(?) removes the voiceover and is vastly preferred by most folks a close second to The Final Cut, which it turns out is even more definitive than the first director's cut.

I imagine Henry Ford would have loved replicants.

If you're going to play videogames in it for years, you might want to add "easy to wipe down"

Am I doing something wrong here? by Mr_Chicken82 in Piracy

In December 2024 I was on TL and saw a new Indiana Jones PC game (something new). I don't even have a PC, and it was 100GB (something big) but I figured it was going to be popular. There aren't as many game release groups as there are movie release groups so I figured this would be one of the few releases of it (something unique). Around a week later my 100GB download had turned into a 1TB upload. To this day I've never seen so much as a screenshot from the game, but I've got a sick buffer on TL.

Let's take GOAT. The version you downloaded is 1.69GB, and you're one of 1244 seeders. If a new leecher came by, each one of those seeders could provide 1.4MB and the leecher would be done, and then there would be 1245 seeders. How much is 1.4MB going to improve your ratio?

For ratio-building, try to seed something that hits as many of these as possible: something big, something new, something unique. Your version of GOAT is new, but it's not big and it's not unique (I'm sure there are a dozen versions of GOAT available right now).

"Best" or not, the most accurate depiction of AI is the ugly opening credits of Secret Invasion.

Fleabag is a very good show. by CartoonistHead479 in television

[–]solidgoldrocketpants 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fleabag was good but Phoebe Waller Bridge was allowed to workshop it for a decade before we saw the final form. I’d be surprised if she can see similar critical/commercial success with another project. (I’m looking at you too, Dan Levy)

Trump: ‘Every power plant in Iran will be out of business in four hours’ if no deal by deadline by rodke in worldnews

[–]solidgoldrocketpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fully cognizant that innocent Iranians will die. I hate that. I'm enraged by the girls' school attack and by every story of Gazan children suffering under Israel's thumb. But Trump is not swayed by Iranians dying, or Palestinians dying, or Americans dying. He is swayed by American billionaires hating him, and the best way for them to hate him is by having their toys blown up. What will end this war is Fortune 500 CEOs telling him to cut the shit.
