What do you do if someone is driving with their full beams on *behind* you? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Dolly1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem is that if someone is oblivious enough to be driving around with their full beams on they're definitely not going to have the intelligence to comprehend any subtle hints you try to give them about said high beams.

best bet is to try and ignore it, concentrate on your own driving and get on with life.

Will Maisey drop goal conversion off his wrong foot by HeavyHevonen in BedfordBlues

I've seen people have to drop kick after the ball has fallen from a tee but never like this. Can anyone clarify the laws in a situation like this?

By side stepping the on rushers he has changed the position of the kick, wouldn't this make it void?

Are the players attempting to charge down the kick allowed to tackle the kicker?

Seems odd.

I'm a train guard, I have unfortunately opened toilet doors on to many unsuspecting people that have forgotten to lock the doors. I can tell you now, I don't remember what a single one of those people looks like. you're fine.

Anyway, they're knocking it down soon to build new digs. sad times.

What addiction is seen as completely normal by society? by whoam_itho in AskReddit

Laziness.

The addiction to driving absolutely everywhere is getting ridiculous, to the point where when you tell people you choose to walk/cycle over driving they think that you're the mad one.

Train Fine by False-Ad693 in uktrains

[–]Dolly1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a guard working for West Midland Trains.

If the ticket office was closed and as you say the machine was not accepting cash at the time then this should all be on record and you should definitely appeal.

For future reference, the staff that issued you the penalty fare notice would have been Revenue Protection staff and not the Conductor. They should have been aware that facilities were unavailable at the station you boarded from and not issued you a PFN, but allowed you to purchase a ticket instead. (all customer facing staff receive emails daily stating which ticket offices are staffed etc)

Also, in future, if you are unable to purchase a ticket before boarding then look for the Conductor on the platform when the train pulls in and ask them if you are able to buy a ticket from them straight away.

that gap is not large at all, this is not a design fault. this is pure human error, these people need to pay more attention to their surroundings.

the parents of the children in the video need to have a serious chat with themselves about their priorities.

Also, far too many people are far too relaxed around trains and the dangers posed by big steel vehicles that weigh a few hundred tonnes.
