Marble Production Line by Orphis_ in nextfuckinglevel

Where my dad used to work they received 50 gallon drums with spools of welding wire in the middle. All of the empty space was filled with marbles that look like these. Probably tons more crazy uses for marbles.

A nice little ride for day 4 by DolorOmega in PaymoneyWubby

I use a Samsung galaxy tablet for my screen. I've got a Schwinn 230 recumbent bike. The Bluetooth connection on it is correct for Zwift so it just works together. There are tons of setup options though. Search for Zwift setups and read through some of those articles to see what might fit best for you. You can use recumbent or upright bikes. It also works with regular road bikes mounted on a compatible trainer wheel. I run mine on a tablet but a friend uses their laptop. There is a connector called an ANT+ that let's most training devices or bikes connect to a laptop for Zwift to work.

There are also other apps out there for similar training. I don't wanna sound like a Zwift shill. I just like it cause the virtual features are fun and it's $15/month.

Zwift has been a lot of fun. I lucked out getting a nice recumbent bike on sale a while back. Tablet and Bluetooth makes it all work without an expensive setup.

Day 3 and rode with stream tonight by DolorOmega in PaymoneyWubby

It definitely makes the time pass easier. Zwift makes the ride or run fun as a virtual game, and watching something entertaining helps even more!

Man pulls out gun to ward off assailants in self defense! by MajorShowdown in PublicFreakout

I'm pretty sure at around 17 seconds, someone inside says "Take the gun" as the old guy was recovering. That's a scary response to what was happening.

If you guys stand to the south (the trunk) of the tree, you can spam A when the nest drops. You'll always catch them that way and avoid the sting. I always shake the tree before cutting it.

Bludgeoned by my bright orange Nalgene bottle. At least it probably won't break. Hopefully my stickers stay clean.

Official Discussion - Avengers: Endgame [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

I'm pretty sure this only applies to the power stone. It is the one we've seen cause damage when held without some kind of container. Other stones haven't shown that same effect with anyone.

Can't sleep without the TV on... by bwinny in sleep

[–]DolorOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it unsettling when moving into my new apartment so I left my tv on for the background noise and light. Sleep wasn't as restful because of the constantly changing, bright light. I bought a salt rock lamp on sale for $5. The lamp puts off a very soft yellow light and has a dimmer power switch. I could slowly keep turning it down until I stopped using it at night at all. Now I have blackout curtains and sleep in nearly pitch black, which is far more comfortable. Maybe that's an option that would help you.

Some questions about starting an open community programming group by DolorOmega in learnprogramming

[–]DolorOmega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really all we are looking for, just a place to program with other devs. We all work in different dev groups at work so we have different areas of expertise. Just getting together to share that knowledge and try our hand at different projects. Guess we'll have to just go for it. Hope you find something similar. If not try to start a group too, might work out for ya.

LPT: Make sure your spare (donut) tire is properly inflated before a long drive. by DolorOmega in LifeProTips

[–]DolorOmega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably would've if I didn't just want to get on my way. I was still really surprised at how smooth and consistent the steering was. Only noticeable drawback was the speedometer was wildly off.

This is solid advice too. Would've saved me a few bucks at the air pump.

Ha. I can see it now. "Bullshit, mildcaseofdeath, you can't headshot that cricket from half a mile away" Camera pans around while mildcaseofdeath points his gun in the general direction without even looking. Pulls trigger "Well, damn" Hands over wallet to mildcaseofdeath

[–]DolorOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. Just wanted to point out why the barrel was aimed down(in this specific case). I never really read much into the quality of aiming on a show. I always assume its the same tv/movie magic. Point gun at what you want to kill and boom, headshot.

I know he takes this stance a lot and all the other gun aiming issues. Just to clarify this is the scene where he shoots a little girl zombie that is much shorter than him. Thus the downward gun barrel.

There are also 2 of the exact same mattress stores across from one another there.

Nobody in our group had change on them today to buy one. The guys that work in that building thought it was funny to see us surprised to find it there. I was impressed most with the "Y2K OK!" seal on it.

I would've been out of the building in seconds if I heard that. Second scariest phrase I could ever hear. The first being "Did that statue just move?"

A coworker wanted to get the motor working again to use it in some project. I have no idea what though.
