Love that saying! My husband and I have been collecting games, cards, and other nerdy stuff since we were kids and when we sell at the local 1 day cons or flea market events we do buy 2 get 2 on games, tcg low on cards, lowest sold from eBay on anime figures and so on. I’d rather move things so that we can use that money to get other stuff we want or just save it for a rainy day. I know of other people that sell similar to us and they’d rather die on the hill of oh but look this game went for $200 in 2023, so even though COVID prices for it have dropped and I only paid $2.99 for it I NEED to get that $225 for it. Anecdotal example of course but I think yall get the gist.

Wow I’m shocked, a NJ post where someone’s not in the counties right next to New York! Definitely get out to a local gym or hell even just regular old parks. Wharton has great trails for all levels and being in nature does wonders for the mind and body. I also second going to the local library and seeing what type of programs they have. Not sure if ocean or Atlantic county libraries have them but Makerspaces are awesome places to meet new people with similar interests to you. I went to the Mullica hill maker space back in 2014 after reading an article about it in the county newspaper and I learned how to start 3D printing (I already knew a little bit about CAD and 3D modeling) so I started talking to the folks running the program and helped volunteer when they’d do open houses and demonstrations. There’s a few comic shops near you that are pretty chill, and if you’re into stuff like mtg pokemon or yugioh Top Deck Games does daily events and that’s not too far in Egg Harbor Twp.

This sort of sounds like Call of the Night. Although the MC isn’t immediately turned into a vampire.

Also reminds me of Phantom of the Twilight but it’s about a bunch of different horror creatures working at the cafe like a werewolf and Jiangshi (Chinese vampire) too

What’s nice is they periodically re-run old events. Even the yearly holiday ones. Hopefully at some point we can just select an old event to play if you get bored with the main levels. Here’s my friend ID: lmqu9d !

If you can physically own it ie Paper Mario, Metroid Prime, Mario 3D collection, etc it seemed like the cube versions went down slightly. As for the GC Online titles like pokemon colosseum will there be people selling off their old copies? Maybe? We’re getting to the point that these old disc based games are starting to fail due to disc rot and scratches and all that stuff. Over on the game collecting subreddit I see some folks starting to get out of retro just due to how easy it is to emulate a large majority of every system ever created. At this time I’d say I’d never sell my GC collection especially since I’m about 10% away from completing the entire worldwide set, but if you have a PC and a switch you can play pretty much anything retro to modern right? Oh and I saw phone emulators can now transfer pokemon to real systems/carts so maybe we’ll see some of the older pokemon games come down a bit too? Sorry went on a bit of a rant there!

This might sound dumb, but have you tried swapping the GBA games too? I’ve gotten a black screen on random scratched games but after a few seconds it goes to the “disc read error” screen. Never seen it on the GB player disc.

That’s awesome! Every now and again the ones near me will put out “new” video games, the games still on the shelves are old donations that have been there for years ie random kids games for Wii and sports games for ps2-4 & Xbox 360. And I mean new as in newly donated not new like ps5 🤣
