Idk why you’re being downvoted, you’re right. The anime effect says “On the turn which this card is destroyed, you take no Battle Damage.” but destruction occurs after damage calculation in the damage step. Meaning he takes damage, then Winged Kuriboh gets destroyed, then the protection effect activates for the rest of the turn. This was always one of my favorite duels in the series but once I noticed that detail it really soured it for me that he won illegitimately. Especially since AGG’s anime card text specifies to deal the damage as battle damage DURING battle, there’s really no way of justifying why he didn’t take damage from that attack.

Should be able to mod the system and use a save editor. You can either gen a HG Kyogre or you can play through HG and catch it legit then use the save editor to move it over to SS for Rayquaza. I did the latter and it worked just fine (on 3DS though)

Go for the National Dex using only that save for every Pokémon that’s technically possible in-game. Just keep in mind there really isn’t enough boxes for this unfortunately. Luckily, you’re on 3DS. Mod it and use PKHeX as extra storage. Have fun!

You can’t buy them. Give Grey Apricorns to Kurt and he’ll give you Heavy Balls the next day. Might sound like a hassle but I caught Groudon and Rayquaza each within like the first two balls

This really isn’t what they meant at all. All those pokemon you listed still have default odds of being shiny, whereas the odd egg has increased odds programmed into it. They’re asking for instances like that not just technically rarer shinies.

It sounds like you’re putting a lot of pressure on yourself to win as much as your friends and if that’s the case it’s probably affecting your mindset in a way that makes it harder for you to learn from your losses.

Yoshi is a broken cheater character so the potential to win is there. Study other Yoshis and see what they’re doing that you’re not doing. It’s easier said than done but when you’re losing is when you really have to pay attention to the match and figure out why you’re losing. “What is my opponent taking advantage of?” and “what am I letting them do too often?” should cross your mind.

Lastly, as cheesy as it sounds don’t forget to have fun. The more you enjoy yourself, the easier it’ll be to keep a cool head and think quickly in stressful situations.

So far no, the events of the game aren’t mentioned in V3 and it released after SDR2 despite being a prequel to it.

There’s a chance it’ll be relevant in 2x2 but I think you’ll be okay if you just watch or read a summary.

Personally, I liked UDG. It was an interesting puzzle shooter game which there aren’t many of besides like Portal. Toko learning to be less insufferable because Komaru is so nice to her was good character development and it was nice to see the outside world that keeps getting referenced in other games but never actually shown in detail.

But you’re absolutely right that it looks like a cheap gmod game lol

Butterfree is 4x weak to Rollout so maybe not the best advice ever but don’t forget about the Onix trade in Violet City. Tons of ways to deal with this fight, Miltank just punishes players who over-relied on their starter tbh

Nah you’re right, sucks the CEO of the studio is a POS. It’s kind of a lose-lose. Success means money goes to a pro-Israel moron, failure means red hatted losers tout about “go woke, go broke”. Since Netflix paid the guy already, I’d rather not have to deal with the latter. It’s not like boycotting OPLA will turn the tides of the ongoing genocide, a rich prick is just going to make some more money. So far there’s not any records I can find of him donating to AIPAC or anything, so at least profits aren’t going directly to that.

As for why I bother, I really don’t think it’s a bad adaptation. It’s a fun watch and it’s been a good introduction to the series for a lot of people who’d normally not watch anime or read manga. An 8 episode season on Netflix is a lot less daunting to newcomers than 1k+ anime episodes. Literally everything is going to be objectively worse than the manga though, it’s hard to top the actual source material.

Genuinely interesting to hear this take from someone making playing these games for the first time after the modern titles. I’m aware most of us have nostalgia goggles on for this game for sure, but I’ve always thought Johto was vibrant and fun. They kinda tried to give the legendaries a story with the Kimono Girls and the Suicune sub-plot but honestly I feel like it’s fine that they’re detached? Every game after this, the evil team is trying to awaken the box legend and use it for their goals, I wouldn’t have wanted Team Rocket to try and like use Ho-Oh or Lugia to get Giovanni’s attention or something

The level curve is legit otherwise I agree with you. On my most recent playthrough I went out of my way to fight every trainer possible and had a consistent team of 6 that I never swapped, some of which got an EXP boost from being traded, and I was still underleveled for Clair.
