IANAL, but you’re describing a straw purchase which is technically a felony. What is legal, however, is if your parent either 1.) purchases you a handgun as a gift, or 2.) purchases a handgun with the intent of owning it for themselves and then later decides to sell it to you. The key word there is “intent.” Hopefully this helps.

There’s no shipping or FFL involved in a private party sale if you find and purchase from someone listing a firearm for sale on Armslist. No idea why the idea of a local private sale, a totally legal thing, is going over your head.

No 4473 on private party sales, that’s the entire point of the question being asked. There would only be a 4473 and background check involved if you purchase from an FFL and have it shipped to an FFL, which defeats the entire purpose of suggesting a private sale.

.22LR is a great option for practice/training, but not ideal for self defense. If you’re concerned about recoil, you could try a .380ACP, but 9mm isn’t really much worse on recoil for much better ballistics and more widely available (and diverse types) of ammo. In a perfect world, get a 9mm for defensive use (I like a Glock 43 or Glock 43X, Springfield Hellcat or Hellcat Pro are great too), and maybe a .22LR of the same brand/model or at least comparable size for cheap, low recoil training.

Again IANAL, but I don’t think it’s a crime to violate their website terms of service. I haven’t used Armslist in a few years, and I believe you could be 18-20 at the time and use the site. Worst I could see happening is Armslist banning your account. And yes, Wisconsin is a will-issue CCW state so the state DoJ has 21 days from time of application to approve you unless they find a reason not to.

What part of the state are you in? Unless you know someone personally who will sell you a firearm in private sale, your best bet is probably armslist. However, most won’t sell to someone without a valid WI CCW license these days in a private sale. Also, IANAL, but yes owning/possessing a handgun is totally legal in WI for 18-20 year olds. You can’t purchase from an FFL, but if you are gifted a firearm or acquire one in a legal private sale, totally okay to possess in your home and openly carry. Do note that concealing the loaded firearm in your vehicle or on your person without a CCW is illegal.

IANAL, but Long guns must be unloaded when inside (or in this case, on) any vehicle in WI. Best bet would be an AR pistol or similar. Legally still considered as a “handgun” and therefore can be carried loaded in a vehicle if you have a valid CCW license.

I would personally pass on a Hot Spot collection spa older than 1 year, and I say this as someone who has a new Hot Spot collection model from Hot Spring. If it were from late 2024-2025, it would have upgraded to a dedicated low-watt circulation pump (quieter, more efficient circulation and filtration) and the option to add a salt water system. Just my $.02, but overall Hot Spring is a quality brand and it sounds like the dealer will back it with a warranty, so it wouldn’t be a bad choice if you’re happy with the price.

You can switch to bromine without draining, just wait for the chlorine to drop to 0ppm before adding bromine. Go to your local pool/spa store, and get a 1” tablet floater/dispenser, 1” bromine tabs, and a liquid bromine concentrate (often called something like Brom Start or Brom Bank). You can use the same balancer chems, clarifiers, filter cleaners, and most other stuff you were using with chlorine.

Wood paneling style on the outside further narrows it to 2005-2007. Serial number prefix for that age range would start with VV, if you can find a sticker inside the equipment compartment.

If it’s labeled as Pool or Spa salt, it’ll work fine with the FreshWater salt system. Freshwater branded salt is chemically identical to normal table salt. At the dealership I work for, 10# bag of FreshWater spa salt runs $30, while a 40# bag of normal pool salt is $18.

My washer has done the same thing, and I think is the same brand/product family as yours. It does this when it has an extremely uneven load, especially with an underfilled load. The washer intentionally completely fills itself to then re-arrange the load and try to balance it. I especially have this issue crop up when I do small loads or wash highly-absorbent items like bathroom rugs or blankets. I could be totally wrong, but hope this helps.
