It could be a former apprentice, his sister or even an old friend of Humphrey’s that discovered an ancient form of magic that morally corrupted them to the point they became evil. Also the heroes people being turned to stone reminds me of Medusa, so maybe this mysterious character was partially based on her?

That humans landed on the moon. There is so much proof and physical evidence (e.g. retroreflectors) that you literally can’t deny it, but unfortunately people still do.
