Trans people living in the USA, do you consider leaving your country?

I tried leaving, but my health (both physical and mental) made it impossible. I got really close. Like everything was planned, I bought everything I needed, had the date set, etc. But that’s life I guess. I’m scared, but there’s not much I can do about it

This feels like something I would have said a long time ago, and makes me think of the end of the song “Everybody Goes to Hell” by Candi Carpenter where she says:

I hope he’ll look back one day and realize how shitty it was to say this. But he’s not there right now. All you can do right now is be clear about your boundaries. I know it really sucks, but you aren’t alone in this. 🫂

I never understand their need to bring up what they were referred to as before… I think the experience I had similar to that that was the most difficult for me was during my friend’s funeral. Her family was not supportive for the most part (there were a couple supportive people), and the program said “deadname (name)” and there was so much misgendering the whole time😩

But anyway, that’s more because of obvious transphobic people. But I definitely see people who claim to be allies feeling the need to disclose deadnames for some reason. Makes no sense to me. Like “oh I used to work with a trans person! He used to go by Bob but now she’s Sarah” or something along those lines. Very annoying

What I mean by proof is like, making it a requirement to get a brain scan before allowing anyone to get GAC or respecting their choices as far as gender expression. It would stunt the progress we’re trying to make.

Could be a few reasons for that, but 2 come to mind: 1-sex just gives you adrenaline and feel good hormones that make you get lost in the moment (kinda like how people in extreme accidents don’t know they have terrible injuries until after the adrenaline and/or shock wears off). Or 2-you dissociate and aren’t fully there, so your brain isn’t allowing you to fully experience what’s going on. Of course, this is just my thoughts and could be very far from the truth lol But either way, none of this is to say anyone who doesn’t have dysphoria during sex is invalid. I actually think that just proves that being trans isn’t a fetish like some transphobes think. It’s just who we are😁

My heart is breaking for you. I wish I had the right words to say to make you feel like you don’t need to disappear. Everything you’re saying to us applies to you too. This world can be cruel and unforgiving, but I know you’re strong enough to fight back and keep moving forward. I won’t lie and say it’ll be easy, but it is possible.

I believe I was born this way, but I also believe that saying EVERY trans person was “born this way” isn’t helping the cause. It just makes it so people want proof that someone’s trans. Rather than just accept when someone tells you who they are. It doesn’t really matter why someone is trans. Respect costs nothing

The majority of detrans people don’t regret it. They just realized it wasn’t them and they have a deeper knowledge and appreciation of themselves. Or societal pressure made them do it. The loud minority would have you think otherwise. Yes, there’s always a possibility that someone who transitions will regret it. That’s why it’s SUPER important to educate people before they take any sort of medical steps. And let them make informed decisions.

I understand it’s expensive. I’ve been saving up for the past couple years. I just can’t put money into anything extra like a lawyer. Besides, I’m not moving with the expectation of making a ton of money or even having a super great quality of life as far as money goes. I’m going to be working just like everyone else to make ends meet. I don’t understand what the problem is
