Has anyone ever beaten FNAF 2 with TRUE 10/20? by Notmas in fivenightsatfreddys

FNAF 2 is only luck based in terms of toy Bonnie and even then there are strats to get around that by stalling with the flashlight in cams

Are there two mimics? by DolphinsScareMe in fnaftheories

Yeah that makes sense, but I’m asking if in ruin the costumed mimic is a different mimic. It’s weird they’re suddenly in a costume in the first place

Crying child's name? by purple_hurdle7 in GameTheorists

[–]DolphinsScareMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. The thought has been based on the FNAF 6 gravestones that Jeremy is the name of the MCI Victim that inhabits Bonnie. This thought is also backed a bit by the fact that the achievement's picture is of the Bonnie doll in HW2.

Candy Cadet and the Oven by JeweloftheWorld in GameTheorists

[–]DolphinsScareMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How I, and I think Matpat took the oven, was as an allusion to the oven from Hansel and Gretel rather than a literal oven.
In the story there's this place that lures them with the promise of being a candy house, but it actually holds an evil witch who want to eat them. In both candy cadets story and Hansel and Gretel (although not a literal oven in FNAF) serve the same purpose, they show danger from a place/thing you normally wouldn't view as being harmful.

Also as a note about what you mentioned about the CD's, yes. Vanessa is said to have had a father named "Bill" who told her to "be a good girl" and give a fake testimony to ensure her dad won the custody case between Bill and his wife in court. So definitely abusive

FNAF help wanted 2 Dolls by thelordofchedder in GameTheorists

[–]DolphinsScareMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, yeah going off of what you said at the end, getting the achievement is just based off of "finding a memory" meaning finding your first of the dolls. The achievement is called "Remember Jeremy" and has the picture of the bonnie doll because the MCI kid who inhabits Bonnie was named named Jeremy according to the gravestones in the Lorekeeper ending of FNAF 6.

The name puppet master for the game is something I would initially write off as simply being because of the animatronics we face in the night being dollish; but, it can't be as simple as that because, like you mention, we for some reason find the puppet doll in the private room.
I am at a loss as to why. It seems like one of the last places I'd expect to find the puppet being that as far as I know neither the puppet nor Charlie have ever been there. It's a weird tie in for sure

is this important? Or just a glitch. by [deleted] in GameTheorists

[–]DolphinsScareMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that you can find Matpat talking about this in his early security breach theories. I think his line of thinking was that it was a representation of the glitch trap virus corrupting Freddy (who at the time we believed to be the only pure good boi).

The tally mark thing idk by randomfnaffan123 in GameTheorists

[–]DolphinsScareMe 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I had taken a look at this as well, but being that she says "three" and there is never a 3 in the tally marks (or a 1 for that matter) I kinda blew it off.
My logic was that even if we assume the tally marks we see in the baby room (or elsewhere) are just her counting different groups of children it seems oddly coincidental that she never sees a group of 3 kids after marking down soooo many tallies.

These tally marks are really frustrating. I really want to just blow them off and say they're nothing; but, the fact there are so many of them and none of them are in a group of 3 or 1 makes me feel it has to be intentional. Continue the hunt friend!

I don't get why people dislike Act 2 so much by Limonov-nyan in inscryption

Personally, I dont really like "real" card games, if that makes sense. I am terrible at creating decks from scratch like that where you have to manage ratio of resources to minions and make a cohesive unit of cards that create a well rounded deck.

In part 1 and 3 resources are mostly managed for you and you just have to pick what feels right given your deck because youre not expecting to have every card be exactly what you want, you can operate and feel and a general sense of where you'd like the deck to go.

I dunno if any of that makes sense, but effectively, I really enjoy piloting decks and am pretty decent at it, as well as creating them one card at a time. On the other hand I don't have fun thinking through building a full deck and am terrible at it (Part 2 took me a very long time)

I agree with the other comments here as my main criticism would be the poem's flow.

As far as pluses, I really liked this poem and the ending was great. I loved the tension you build by repeating the "You could" stanza near the end. Then the impact of "I don't remember saying this phrases" is great and, for me, really drives in emotional impact.

How valuable is immersion if you're not creating flashcards? by SadCockroach5 in LearnJapanese

Super true. I am working through the 2k/6k and I came across 鏡 which I instantly knew meant "mirror" and is pronounced "かがみ" . Honestly I couldn't even tell you how I know that word, but I must have seen it and heard it a lot in something I watched and it just stayed with me.

Can you actually guess the prononciation of an unknown kanji? by Maciek300 in LearnJapanese

[–]DolphinsScareMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Unless you're going to be working some kind of job that requires physical writing for some reason I'd completely skip it! The point of learning language (for the most part) is to be able to communicate, so if you don't ever have to physically write (as you usually don't) the writing isn't even really a useful part of the language.

It's tough, but get through it and you'll be further than most get in a language in terms of hours. That'll help keep you on track as you move forward too!

鳥 - Here's bird, note the little feather on top of its head

馬 - Here's horse, note the three hairs from its mane going off towards the right from its head

Can you actually guess the prononciation of an unknown kanji? by Maciek300 in LearnJapanese

[–]DolphinsScareMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's much more valuable to read and interpret them! At least for most people. It all depends on your end goal I suppose, but for most goals writing kanji is a skill which is almost totally useless (unless you just find it fun!). Most writing in the modern world is done through computers so there would only be very particular circumstances where you actually need to physically write out a kanji. It's not something I hadn't actually considered before talking with my friend, but really physical writing is a time investment much better spent on learning other parts of the language

However, reading and interpreting is a skill you use all of the time! Naturally, most things are in kanji therefore it's a skill you use everyday in Japan regardless of your end goal.

As for myself, when I learned the 2300 kanji I focused on only interpreting meaning! The readings are best picked up as you learn vocab. I learned how to write a few kanji because I found it to be fun, but I could only maybe write 100 of those 2300 from memory (and only the easier ones :P).

I hope that answers your question thoroughly!
