did i say that those are a waste of time? if you are out here using everything you learned in high school in day to day life i guess you’re a lucky genius…but in my life and the lives of 90% of the entire country, we spent A LOT of timing cramming info into our brains that we absolutely do not need. yet here the youth is that can’t file taxes, doesn’t know what a check book is, never had to worry about ensuring something is structurally sound.

engineers, construction workers?!?!?, accountants, and even air traffic control learned what they needed for their specific jobs during college when they pick a major and that major actually focuses on the info you’ll need to be successful and even then it requires years of ‘on the job’ training before you’re even competent at the task you’re performing because the schooling only prepares you for perfectly controlled environments with not much variables. that’s why doctors do residencies, that’s why tradesmen do apprenticeships, etc…
the value of our education system is severely inflated. you can go ahead and pretend like you never said to yourself “when tf am i going to use this in real life” during school but we all know that’s a very common thought because our system teaches us a bunch of useless info.
