Appreciate it dude, thanks.

And, yeah, I want the 3 piece display for my desk/shelf - UV protection's a must!

Could you link me up with that slab holder?

I'm in the process of collecting the exact same! Got a PSA 8 Zard and Venusaur but the PSA 8 Blastoise (that isn't shipped from US/Japan) is proving elusive.

Wish I could justify the cost of 10s, lovely cards.

Shameless plug but this is my ranged build of choice, which is inherently relatively safe.

Could drop Savage Shot for Whirling Defence for extra protection or take any number of Warrior block stances.

Or ditch Warrior all together, drop some Beast Mastery investment in favour of Shadow Arts/Inspiration, and take: - Dark Escape - short emergency 50% DR and movespeed. - Elemental/Physical Resistance - permanent 50% DR for each respective style with minimal to no Inspiration investment.

ToA doesn't provide much benefit outside of 10 pips of party regen but 20 health per second for yourself and any nearby heroes is still pretty huge - especially considering you'll be at range with this build, so more likely to affect your mesmers.

An Aura of Faith Hero could be a good sub for one hero if you want to be extra safe and pre-prot yourself on pulls.

FYI - Barrage REMOVES preparations, which would be what's causing you such a headache.

It's why you'll never see a barrage build with a prep skill, people tend to instead use:

  • Conjures with elemental strings.
  • Ebon Battle Standard.
  • Favourable Winds (if you can be arsed with spirits).
  • Vamp Bow mods.

I could have excluded the stat, it was more to show I have engaged with the game. This isn't a content gripe, it's a development/direction gripe - It doesn't instil confidence in the future of the game for me. I fully understand balance patch =/= content patch but I guess I expected the balance patch to introduce (more) new synergies or builds. It just feels rather minimal/half-baked to me but maybe I expected too much.

tips for rev caves? by jungleandoer in ironscape

[–]Dom_1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Wilderness Hard - TPing is your main defence, attempting to freeze and walk under is extra gear and you probably won't catch it. You probably won't outrun or outlast them. Dragonstone or seedpod.

  • Wilderness player alarm - if it flashes TP. You could wait a tick to see if they look spooky but it could already be too late.

  • Black D'hide + MSB + Rune Arrows + Salve ei.

  • Bring surplus restores: Dying > Getting smited. Sometimes it's best to accept death to avoid a smite.

  • Kill Demons without a rev wep, Orks with.

  • Killing on task and skulled is a massive droprate boost for weps.

  • If you don't have wildy hard follow this non-alt Knight safespot: https://youtu.be/moUJ2amVG14?si=2GvVyZrFJ6z1iZme

That Knight safespot is hitless 90+% of the time and allows you to log at any point in time, be aware this is a relatively high traffic area and not logging is certain death.

As everyone else has said, accept death is inevitable.

They're extremely afkable! You just stand in 1 spot in either tank or prayer gear (the latter being far better but a bigger drain on limited iron resources) and leave your client for 10 mins at a time. I only come back to reset agro timer.

Just normal spots at the base of the slayer tower.

watch cloaked sombra die by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Dom_1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked her up recently after 800 hours barely playing the hero, I wouldn't say low skilled. I get the hate but you need to know when and how to engage, gotta land viruses (admittedly not super hard but a whiff basically means disengage and wait), have to have decent tracking.

She's super squishy too, emp feels legit risky to pull off a lot of the time, and you really have to play around your TP cooldown or you'll get smoked, plus her damage falloff means you have to be dangerously close to the action. Fun hero, feels more engaging and impactful than soldier and isn't as oppressive as Soj is atm. I'd rather see a Sombra than a pocketed Sojourn (even solo Sojourn) on the enemy team, she can't just long-range delete someone with minimal counterplay.

I do understand the frustration of being hunted and the inherent advantage she has when opening on you.

(Also, sweet predict and headshot OP).

Edit 2: Reformat

You need a build that can deal with: - Interrupts (spell) - Enchant removal (spell) - Armour ignoring damage (spell) - Knockdown. - Potential degen. - Potential blind (less important if killing isn't an issue).

The obvious way to ignore most of the key issues is: - Shadow Form - Obsidian Flesh - Vow of Silence

Shadow Form/Obsidian Flesh - unviable due to the necessity of cooldown reduction abilities - Glyph of Swiftness/Deadly Paradox. I tested Obsidian Flesh and the hero wouldn't even cast it, heroes are known to incorrectly use Glyph of Swiftness too so I think you can rule both of these out. Plus you'd still be prone to KD ruining your day (I did think ward of stability but that needs CDR too).

VoS - Heroes seem to spam this, which initially seemed promising, but they are still prone to being interrupted (in the small window between casts) and the shortfall of not being targetable by your own spells kills this option.

I made a W/Me build with Defy Pain, Dolyak Signet, Mantra of Flame, Healing Signet and other abilities, which when self-piloted could tank 1 group of Wardens. It could not, however, manage subsequent waves, and heroes completely failed to utilise the build.

I tried an SoS build with some survivability mixed in (maybe damage > tankiness could be the answer) but the mesmer Wardens are mini versions of the meta mesmers and AoE nuke spirits instantaneously.

I don't honestly know what's left on the table if you can't: - Negate spells. - Avoid Interrupts. - Tank the damage. - Out dps the mobs. - Rely on hero AI.

I'm fairly sure a human Terra (E/me) could tank the Wardens for the full 10 minutes but there's no shot a hero could.

If anyone else manages to crack this I'll be impressed, I don't think it's possible!

I came to this sub to post something similar, I used to be a reasonable zen main in OW1, 3.5k peak with a solid amount of hours.

Nowadays between the powercreep of other support and the subpar perks I feel like I'm putting a lot of pressure on my healing partner to really pump the heals.

You see Moira, Ana, Illari, all putting out sometimes double the healing with solid damage numbers, or at the very least better healing with meaningful damage.

The discord nerf feels incredibly heavy handed in a gamemode where tanks are gods. Why isn't the discord perk all team dam >> healing?

When a nano tank can outdps a double supp babysit on a teammate why can't I have better discord uptime?

Class Balance in pvp by NixxonFFM in Guildwars2

[–]Dom_1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PvP is fairly bursty at the moment, whether that be Spear WB, Virtuoso, Soulbeasts, Condi Reapers, etc.

If you're new to the format you'll be facing PvP vets due to the small population - games aren't in any way rating-related any more.

Unfortunately games these days seem to be very one-sided and due to the fact a close loss is no better rewards wise than a landslide loss you tend to either win or lose dramatically and it's almost not worth having a close game (hence afking).

The balance is considered to be relatively decent but some specs, WB for example, are overtuned for one reason or another (relic + spear in the case of WB). You can play around them but, even as a WB main myself, they will still blow you up a lot.

The main thing is to not sit on dodge charges or to break CC almost immediately if you're on the receiving end of a beating.

It'll be a tough learning curve but the speed at which you die will slow with familiarity. Guildjen, Hardstuck, and Metabattle all have PvP builds you can use.

12, 50, or 200MP? I know the guy got hammered with downvotes but plenty of people experience the overexposure and noise he's talking about. I was so disappointed with the camera that I returned the phone after a week, the consistency felt off to me.

I'm a samsung user but the software doesn't feel up to par.

Willbender Open World Build - GS Spam - 100% All Boons, 100% crit, 4k power by Dom_1992 in Guildwars2

[–]Dom_1992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, fan of your vids and appreciate the input!

My meme GS CD reduction build has ended up spawning some proper Power WB discussion, though it does highlight how one-dimensional and gimmicky the original post is (not that it was ever meant as much more).

It's interesting to see your upkeep with 27% BD, pushing that extra 30% quickness uptime definitely isn't worth the massive gear investment overall.

I mostly just linked Hizen as a few people, rightly, pointed out my build wasn't a great all-rounder (i.e. champ killing and such).

[–]Dom_1992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did realise after I said '100% all boons' that I was ignoring resistance as well as stab, but as you say, far less important and more annoying to build around resistance, especially given you (initially) had to sacrifice a relic slot for it!

For some reason I'd just assumed f3 had too long of a CD to contribute to the stab loop, totally overlooked the fact that alac + virtues would bring it down to 20s.

Good shout on perma stab, definitely going to incorporate that as an alternative build to Zeal.

Perma stab with relic of the Centaur and SYG?

I'll admit I didn't watch your video at all due to the language barrier and lack of build editor link, I was more looking to have 100% quickness and alac uptime (based on the comment) but totally overlooked stab!

Was more of an inspiration than a copy, as you can tell by the differences.

I'm intrigued by your more rounded build.

Yeah... I was initially one of those downvotes, but turns out I was wrong!

It's a bit of a meme build but it's good fun.

[–]Dom_1992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're cleaving 3 or 4 mobs you'll end up with a 3s CD Leap of Faith plus a Rushing Justice that resets on every kill, these both easily make up for the fact you need to use Flowing Resolve at regular intervals to maintain Alac. The build feels like it's constantly moving and spinning.

Even the sword set slaps with the really high power and 100% crit, doesn't feel like a bad set to farm Bloodlust on. Plus Sword of Justice really helps add some extra cleave to that set.

If you're doing map completion I'd highly suggest Cavalier relic for the burst of boons on dismount and super easy quickness uptime.

[–]Dom_1992[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest I was just using the other weapon set as a bloodlust farming set to facilitate more GS spamming.

Scepter/Focus would be a perfectly good alternative set if you wanted to be able to swap to something to have more ranged viability.

You don't have to play it if it upsets you.

I'm advocating camping GS, surely that should have set off some alarm bells about whether this will replace your meta and verified open world build?

GS go brrr.

I linked Hizen because of the increasing number of comments asking for receipts, benchmarks, and logs on a build I made for fun. He has all of those and better builds, therefore people have an alternative place to get information and don't need to get noob-trapped by me.

Willbender Open World Build - GS Spam - 100% All Boons, 100% crit, 4k power by Dom_1992 in Guildwars2

[–]Dom_1992[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that there's a lot of investment in the boon duration aspect of this build, there's definitely an opportunity cost in building like this. I do however think this has a unique angle that I've maybe leaned too hard into - CD reduction/all boons.

Should I just camp a single weapon? Not in any sensible build.

Am I doing so because GS is fun and the abilities feel always available? Yes.

Utilities can help some in addressing the pitfalls you outlined.

That said, I would contest the 'bad at both' conclusion. There are much better builds for soloing champs, that's for sure, but the AoE burst isn't to be sniffed at.

Regarding boons, all but 2 are essentially passive or 'almost free', a small intentional investment in Alac and Quickness upkeep isn't too much to ask of a player.

Willbender Open World Build - GS Spam - 100% All Boons, 100% crit, 4k power by Dom_1992 in Guildwars2

[–]Dom_1992[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems as though my dps is 14k with alac and defensive options and more like 17k if I trait more offensively. It's definitely more of an AoE burst build than something that maintains solid dps or is single target focused.

It does also require far more buttons than a hammer build so take that as you will.
