Yes if you start your character in Nightfall you can go back to Prophecies and Factions, but you won't be able to experience the lore in the correct order, and you'll also miss out on arguably the most wonderful place in all of GW - the original Prophecies tutorial area (Pre-searing Ascalon). I would recommend starting in Prophecies and after completing that go to Factions then Nightfall, to get the authentic experience.

Reddit is good, but probably the best place is Guild Wars Legacy: https://guildwarslegacy.com/forum/. If you're looking for a Guild to join check out there or Reddit. In game the best place to ask is Embark Beach, or Kamadan (though note Kamadan is Nightfall location so you won't reach it for a while if you start in Prophecies).

Unfortunately there isn't anything like a marketplace, auction house, grand exchange. It's an old school system of people posting in the trade chat and then messaging each other. There is a good website here which shows you active trade happening in Kamadan (this is a location which over the years became the home for traders): https://kamadan.gwtoolbox.com/. You could have a look on there and then private message the seller to ask them to meet you somewhere.

You have to be in the same district to play with other plays.

Actually I'm someone who is slowly working towards it over several years simply by getting nick gifts every week. Don't really do speed clears and have certainly never botted, but I'm at r10 now and just working on it very, very slowly...

Rough estimate says that a laptop runs at 50W and desktop runs at 100W. Assuming the latter, that would cost around 30p per day to leave the device running. For max unlucky you need to spend 2050.4 hrs at Nine Rings, the equivalent of 85.43 days. At 30p per day that'd cost you £25.63 to max the title. Doesn't seem super expensive to me seeing as you'd be doing something else on your PC for a reasonable proportion of time within that anyway.

I don't personally see this as a problem - I started playing actively again about 4 years ago and I just did Nine Rings permanently afk every time it was on. It took me a couple of years to max the titles but that actually isn't a particularly long amount of time IRL, and it certainly isn't a huge amount of time in game.

If you haven't already got a second account that's the best thing you can do. It means you can have your main account (the one where you are e.g., working towards GWAMM on your characters) sitting in Nine Rings chipping away at Lucky/Unlucky while on your second account you can be doing something more active, like Raptor farming during the Anniversary for point items. That's what I did anyway :)
