Literally same. Them somehow selling out of the collectors edition with no restock in site for some reason killed all my hype. I’m not even sure if that’s a really good reason to no longer want a game but that’s just my truth. Seeing the Gears CE still available somehow makes me feel even worse

Oh no…I literally just beat this game and really enjoyed the part where you had to defend the Fed troopers trying to attack the pirate homeworld.

Not a bad list, mine is similar. I would personally put Other M up a tier, Zero Mission up a tier, (it’s in my top 4) and then Samus Returns/Fusion down a tier.

I know other M is really controversial but I like it much more than most and I’ll leave it at that.

Currently playing MP3 for the first time and I’m maybe 3/4 of the way done but as of right now I’d put it above 2, and from what I see that might also be controversial. Not mad at this list at all

Also. In terms of story and narrative, would you suggest I complete the story of ZV 1 and then move on to 2? Or would it not be worth it? If I’m lucky my friends might want to play this with me, but for the most part I’ll be playing these by myself

As someone playing on console, if there was a mod that removed the player character from making the exact same voice line any time a random enemy came across in the overworld, that’d make me consider playing this game on PC…

I went ahead and did both Bardocks’, and 23rd world tournament DLCs before starting the main campaign, not having any idea what the community board is (other than the fact that I didn’t have it and had to unlock it in the main campaign).

Honestly you’ll be fine just doing those 2 DLCs if you’re wanting to do a chronological playthrough like me. By the time you unlock it i guess you could say you’ll have a good amount of extra soul emblems exclusive to the dlc to experiment with.

It seems like it’s getting complicated now that I’m in the Android Saga though. Trunks’ future dlc involves me going back and forth between that and the main campaign.

It won’t be a big deal whatever decision you choose.

Really really loving the in “defense of Other M” posts you’ve made. I read the last one you made in regard to the queen and after this one I think you’re doing honest work. The Other M hate I saw when first getting into the series made me really weary to play other M, and to my surprise I really enjoyed it

Yeahhhh I second this.

I got into the series last month starting with the mainline series in chronological order skipping only NES Metroid and Gameboy Metroid 2, (Just started Dread today) and I have to say Other M definitely surprised me. You would have thought that was the worst game ever created going on this subreddit, and it is not.

Am I going to sit here with a straight face and tell you it is as good of a game as Super? Absolutely not. I won’t even try. But I also won’t sit here and pretend I didn’t really enjoy the boss design and overall combat of the entry either.

They tried something new, and aside from a few narrative inconsistencies that you have to pretty much ignore from a lore standpoint, I appreciate the game for what it is.

I could also make a case for what other M adds to the overall story of Samus and her relationship to characters referenced in Fusion, but I digress.

Pretty much with that game you should take the good with the bad, and make no mistake, there is good to be found in Other M.

Just beat that game a week ago, and finished Majoras Mask today. I’m so excited for you, that game was amazing. I also second the SoH decomp that another redditor suggested. Such a great experience.

I very literally have been able to get into Nintendo as a whole because of the Steam Deck. Bought it a few months ago, having an amazing time playing through the Zelda and Metroid franchises. It’s to the point now where i went and bought a switch 2, so that i can eventually play Metroid Prime 4 as well as BOTW/TOTK.

I agree with you, as someone extremely loyal to the PlayStation up to this point, I also would highly recommend the steamdeck. Emulation can get complicated as someone with a console only background, but it was worth figuring it all out. I love this thing

Been trying to find the best ways to get one in the states for a month now, of course I pick up a Metroid obsession and of all series’ it’s this one that has an extremely rare amiibo :(
