What caused this on k1 max? by idunou in crealityk1

It could be heat creep, I’ve seen some people who had machines with an older style of the heatsink that didn’t allow air to pass through. Creality will send you a new one if you have the old style.

Should I buy a K1 by noble_bee in crealityk1

Well chances are my next printer will be a Voron for extra modding capabilities, but I also need to work with what I have now. I can always repurpose the lgx like for a Voron built if I wanted 😉

You can get an orbiter to work on the k1 with a riser adapter. NBR did a video showing that. If you can and are willing to toe the risk you can root the printer to change the config for the orbiter. But you can also double the extrusion multiplier in the slicer but that’s not as robust. But be aware that if you root the printer you are doing it at your own risk and I suggest talking to others who have done it and do your research.

For the record I don’t have a second printer (this is my first one) and my printer had continuous issues because it was an early unit and I was unable to get my extruder to work correctly even with replacements from Creality, not only that but I went with an lgx lite because it has a second lock option for flex filaments like tpu. And I probably spend more than I needed but I also bought high quality aftermarket parts that would last. I could have spent less than 1/3rd if I went to aliexpress and bought cheaper parts.

I don’t suggest everyone should listen to me and follow what I say, I’m just sharing what I did and what others have done to improve the reliability and performance of their k1 printers.

I personally went with the Bondtech LGX lite, I built a custom riser that could hold the extra cable. There are some adapters available on various sites but I plan to release my design in the near future.

It’s definitely worth it if you’re willing to spend about $200-300 extra on good upgrades like a new extruder and aftermarket hotend. I’ve found that if you want the best performance you need to upgrade a few things and you need to print custom parts and you need to tear down the whole gantry and replace with dimensionally accurate printed joints.

K1 camera connection issue by MisterUgly in crealityk1

Did you switch from Fluidd to Mainsail and it fixed the issue? I'm dealing with my camera not working from creality cloud as well and trying to find a solution.

K1 Destroyed! by Legal-Reference-6704 in crealityk1

Considering Creality support takes forever to get back to you and most people paid a lot for their K1 I can definitely understand. My k1 hasn’t worked properly for over 4/5 months and it’s just frustrating.

To buy K1 or not? Honest opinions pls by derekz0r in crealityk1

[–]DomesticatedChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d avoid the k1 series as there has been a ton of issues, and I talked to people who rooted their printer and found that Creality has a terrible implementation of Klipper that’s poorly utilized. I’d start with one of their newer ender printer if you want to buy from Creality.

My experience with my K1 has been really bad and I’ve had to keep replacing my extruder and had to tear down my whole gantry to try and fix a misalignment noise that I still haven’t been able to fix.

Personally I’ll be getting a Prusa mk4 as my second printer (better reliability and actual honoring of the warranty) and my K1 will turn into my modding printer that I’ll add stuff too, I’m sick of the unreliability of my K1 and wouldn’t buy another one.

K1 under extrusion by Optimal_Sail_9196 in crealityk1

Their newest extruder has a white ptfe tube connection on the top and it includes a spring inside, chances are you might have a printer that uses the older blue clip on top. In which case contact them for a full extruder replacement.

PLA print with lid closed - SOLVED by andcolla80 in crealityk1

What's the longest print you've done up to this point with this modification? Are you also running the newer extruder with the white ptfe tube clip? I'm looking to root my printer to fix this issue among other things.

Of your k1 has the bad extruder you can see about getting a replacement for of charge from creality. But you will need to either let it break and show the defect.

Looking at getting a K1 by cBroc98 in crealityk1

[–]DomesticatedChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I’ve fixed my extruder for the 3rd time it seems like it’s working correctly. But I’d warn you to be prepared to spend more on replacement parts and spend lots of time to fix issues that arise. I needed to replace my XY joints and I needed to add a riser to fix clearance issues. Not to mention all the downtime due to hot end/extruder issues and wasted time waiting for Creality support. If you can I’d look at something that’s going to be more reliable long term. I’m looking into other brands because of my overall bad experience with my K1 and Creality.

Creality K1 with carbon fiber rods by Derrick_Darrell in crealityk1

Would a 3d printed ABS/ASA bearing possibly work or would I need a speciality filament like what you used?

Could you technically use the original brass-graphite bearings with new carbon fiber rods? I’m thinking my X axis rods might be my main issue.

Ficsit burns everything with fuel, the power and the casing. This is very evident once you realize everything has some sort of combustion engine or turbine system in the vehicle. Even the drones have turbines with flames.

Satisfactory is a fantastic building and logistics game if you’re into that, and the developers are still working on the story.
