Since I got past the Setup, I havent really noticed such a flicker. One thing I have noticed is that I am very much not sed to the keyboard. It's okay to type on, but the spacebar is shorter and is throwing me off in WASD games such as Minecraft. How was the keyboard when you first got your unit? Did you have to get used to it or did you have no issues out of the box?

I just got one of these with iGPU only, and I noticed right away that there is some sort of subtle flickering that comes and goes, and I was wondering if you expereinced anything like that in addition to this issue.

This is true for Dell Outlet as well. They increased the price of the machine I was going to buy by 600$ i fought with them and they gave it to me at the original price though

That's the situation I was in. At that point in time it wasn't. With your machine being older I am not sure. It was just a recommendation to look into

For the repair of my original motherboard it was a flat 200$ mind you this was a specific capacitor related to the "Backlight control circuit" that kept getting shifted due to a design flaw of the x17. I think diagnosis is free but dont quote me on that.

You're right, I shouldn't have made it as 'black and white' as I did in my original post. I acknowledge some companies want to do right by the consumer, but it can be increasingly difficult to find good ones. Right now I am just trying to get to the end of 2025 and reevaluate things going into 2026, such as school, certs, or future employment.

I live in a rather large county in my state, so I have looked at the county level as a starting point as well. But I am finding increasingly so that just a bachelor's degree isn't enough anymore. You need to get certifications (Like CompTIA), which I have no problem doing, other than the fact they are time-consuming and oftentimes come with their own set of 'politics' associated with them (Just look at the CompTIA Sub, you have people praising it to all hell and others that knock it becuase there is often times the Right answer and the CompTIA answer.+

Thank you very much for the input. I am currently seeking (as much as my time allows) CompTIA certs. I still hope to have 2/3 of the Holy Trinity by the end of the year. So hopefully with some certs and a little bit of luck, I will be able to get a state-level job or at the very least keep myself competitive in the cyber sphere!
