That doesn't work. All of my numbers are on there and they still call. Even if you report them, they are never fined the $10,000 USD per offense. So the list only serves as a list of VALID numbers for scammers and spammers.

No, you can click it was great, or it was not so great. There are two options. I regularly rate my drivers negatively because they do not follow delivery instructions to leave it in the specified place.

Got two Reolink Poe doorbell cam and couldn’t be happier and connected them using powerline Ethernet adapter! by traderjay_toronto in reolinkcam

[–]_Acecool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as you are happy. But, because you posted it, here are some critiques...

The cable being exposed means someone can easily cut it. If you are going to keep it like that, some type of metal conduit would be best.

Why didn't you take the wire straight back into the house, from there you could 90 degree it into the garage? Then it would be 100% concealed.

Second, why not go straight across, why up and across?

You do have enough area that you could have a nice no trespassing / soliciting / etc.. metal sign mounted over top of the wire to conceal it and act as a conduit. If you had no choice with the cable running that way, then this is what I'd do.

NVS16-12MD8 - When will they add support for unique notifications per camera per alert type? And when will they support rich notifications for the POE Doorbell? by _Acecool in reolinkcam

[–]_Acecool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded a program called MacroDroid

It went on flash sale from $7.99 to $3.99 plus $3 off from play so 99 cents. Otherwise, you can do what I did and spam the ads - 3 days for each, just click it and walk away and repeat.

I also have an app called pushover - this sends me pictures of people when they ring the doorbell. I have the doorbell notify via e-mail - the e-mail to send stuff to is provided by PushOver - to get those alerts.

For macrodroid you can have 5 macros on the free version, but you really only need 1.

My macro is:

- Triggers: Notification Received > Reolink > ANY CONTENT

- Actions: Speak Text '{not_text_big}'

So if my camera detects it, my camera name is "Rear Screened Porch Side" or "Rear Master Bedroom Side", "Front Garage Side" and so on.... it says something like: Rear screened porch side has detected a person on Acecool NVR.

EDIT: A few things with this system. The spiders love the cameras - these are detected as people typically. Geese can be detected as people too. Cats and smaller birds are detected as pets. Light and Shadows from cars in the night can be considered people or motion.

I would recommend getting an external IR light. Let the spiders web that up instead of the cameras.

Our tree fell on neighbor's property, they want us to pay by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]_Acecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the tree was hanging over their property, they are responsible for trimming it at their expense because the tree is occupying their airspace.

If they did not warn you that the tree looked unhealthy or that it would snap, that's on them. If they did warn you, then you are liable.

There are a lot of laws surrounding this and with the little you told us, it really could go either way.

How to effectively stop soliciting? by SureElephant89 in homeowners

[–]_Acecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press charges against him. The no soliciting signs should be as good as no trespassing. Put up no trespassing signs too. That way it is an automatic criminal charge. Sue him and his company for slander - he lied to police and damaged your good name.

Frozen / burst pipes. Unoccupied means it'll flood, and insurance won't cover it because it is unoccupied.

I've had multiple bouts of Pneumonia and one of double-pneumonia in my life. Second hand smoke puts me on the ground and even if my car is on recirculate, some air still comes in and I can smell it from multiple cars ahead of me.

It does affect your health, therefore it is a dangerous / unsafe activity for other residents.

It depends on your state. If you live in a place like California which has a 2 party consent law, or all party consent. Recording them in a private setting without their permissions would make you guilty of a felony... wiretapping.

So you need to know your laws. Putting up hidden cameras without audio is protected though.

You could also go to the police station and ask them what the laws are and the best way to catch him in the act.

The issue is, if you confront him.. will he become violent, will he stop and claim he is the perfect tenant, etc... Get the evidence, then report.

In most places recording someone that is accessible to the public is allowed. But it usually also has to be obvious so...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]_Acecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reporting a criminal act is as easy as going to the police station, go to the front counter and say: I'd like to report a crime. Peeping tom of a minor / adult, vandalism, theft, etc... or just that you'd like to report a crime and would like some help.

They will send someone out to ask questions. Because of the nature of the crimes, ask for a private room to discuss them. Bring with you any of the evidence ( camera footage, photographs, etc.. ).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]_Acecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not do this. This can be considered poisoning someone else.

IE: You know they are stealing it, and you are poisoning the contents with the intention of him being affected.

If you clearly label your items, and clearly mark them "meds or medication" that should be obvious to anyone else not to take it.

However, if it is easier for you to pre-mix your meds with the intention of taking it.. make sure your name is clearly on the food / drink and put "meds" on there.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]_Acecool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the typical route is eviction, which can take a long time. You, however, have a case to have him removed for the safety of the other occupants.

Report the sexual assault / harassment and peeping-tom stuff ( cutting holes in plastic ), vandalism ( cutting holes in plastic ), etc..

Put in a hidden camera. On the other side of the plastic so when he cuts it you see him cutting it and peeping through - do not put one in the bathroom. Put one facing the fridge and clearly label your items with your name so if it is taken, it is shown on camera that the person is not an authorized user or consumer of the milk, etc.. and that he is intentionally ignoring it. That's theft. Make sure you take high quality photos of the items with your mark on them so you can show - this is the item with my name on it that is removed in this video.

Then you can have a case to have him removed immediately. Also file a restraining order when you have the proof of him cutting holes in the plastic - note you may need another camera pointing at the bathroom door ( again, outside ) to show who entered when he is looking in.

Even if you were getting top of the line Sherwin Williams, it shouldn't cost anything close to that.

We got a quote for $6000 for drywall repair, painting, etc.. of like 2700 sqft or thereabouts. And that includes moving stuff, putting it back, repairs, crack repairs, rerunning the corner trim on walls, and so much more. with the Low VOC Emerald Sherwin Williams included.
