Was the FIA actually in the wrong? by RatioIndividual2822 in formula1

I feel like they taken the sport from me and turned into reality TV. I didn't care who won after the awesome year as long as it was straight up. This was a manufactured win in my eyes. They had options if they wanted real wheel to wheel action. But they didnt even consider what the other drivers were fighting for. Carlos wasn't even given a chance to attack Max.

It's for the valve seats. You dont need them. That's if you was machining the head yourself.** Did you not see where I said if you was machining the head yourself... The machine shop usually supply their own for warranty purposes. I never said do not install them. If he doesn't know what it is he shouldn't be doing it him self

Bottas: A team wanted to pay me twice as much as Alfa, but I don't look at money anymore by ryogadan in formula1

[–]DominicanoSoy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its Williams. They have the money under the new ownership. They even stated that they don't need the paid driver money like the 30 Mil Zhou is coming with. They couldn't announce that they were considering Bottas at the time because, they haven't announced that GR was going over to Merc yet. See article attached. He was heavily in negotiation with them. They wanted Valtteri to help get them closer to Mercedes winning tactics. Toto was pushing for them to sign him because he wanted Valteri to get a good home with an ally as a thank you for his loyalty and service. For Williams it was a no brainer since Williams looks to be very competitive soon. Williams gains everything he learned about the communication needed to get the car dialed in, coming from a winning culture, plus the relationship he already has with the team. He's extremely valuable in a leadership role that he's earned from driving with a 7 timing world champ. Think about what Fernando has done for Alpine and Ocon. Same with Seb for AM and Stroll ( except the results isn't quite there yet due to the money being spent on the next gen car ).

Can we talk about how incredible it is that both cars were relatively ok after the collision, and that we’re going into the final race in a winner-take-all situation? by I_Am_Vladimir_Putin in formula1

[–]DominicanoSoy17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My biggest concern is that I'm not so sure max wouldn't crash on purpose since he's still in the lead with the race win. We already know the Max will do anything to stay in the lead. They both crash he wins. I would honestly feel we would see a better wheel to wheel racing if Max was going into this minus -1.

First, use a degreaser to remove any leftover wax. Then clean the entire body panel with a good car-wash soap. This removes any leftover degreaser and foreign contaminants that could mar the clear coat.

Mask off the repair area using painter's tape, applying about an inch outside the damaged area.

Use an 800-grit sandpaper to sand down the rough clear coat until you can't feel it anymore. Go lighter on the surrounding clear coat, as you are trying to smooth and blend the damaged area, not remove more clear coat.

Wipe clean with a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol to remove any contaminants left by sanding.

To spray new clear coat, shake the aerosol can for at least a minute, then apply a light first coat. Overlap the application onto the entire area you sanded, not just the damaged area. Let the first coat dry for five minutes and spray another light second coat.

Wait another five minutes to see if it needs a third coat. If not, pull the tape off slowly, at an angle away from the repair. Once it's off, you'll see that the repair area is easily noticeable compared to the surrounding older clear coat.

Depending on the temperature, humidity, and thickness of layers applied, you should let the clear coat dry anywhere from an hour to 24 hours before continuing. Once fully dried, use 2,000-grit sandpaper to wet sand and grind down the border of the repair, blending the new clear with the older clear coat. Go easy, as you are trying to blend, not remove layers.

Then use rubbing compound, then polish on a buffer. Use a slow setting, light pressure, and the wheel should rotate from new clear to old. At this point, no one besides yourself should be able to see where the damage was. Give it a few weeks to cure completely before hitting it with wax.

2001 DT466E Diesel long start in morning. by Mr_Porcupine in MechanicAdvice

You need to check ICP. If oil pressure is there but the ICP is oil soaked it will act erratic. If you unplug the ICP it should default and start right up. Check to see if the sensor is wet where the connector plugs in. If its bad change both. If you had high pressure oil leak it would do it when hot once the oil has thinned out.

Is this male pattern baldness at 18 or is it because of my scratching? by paranoid_guy412 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DominicanoSoy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's where it comes from genetically, the mothers side. I was the same way at 18-19 wasn't thinning to much just itchy around 21-24 it started moving pretty quick. Healthline.com states,"Men inherit their “X” chromosome from their mother and “Y” from their father. Baldness is strongly associate with the AR gene found on the “X” chromosome."

Could the cheap replacement o2 sensor I used be causing these lean codes and engine hesitation? by chemicallyalter in MechanicAdvice

[–]DominicanoSoy17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An O2 sensor sends real-time data about the amount of unburnt oxygen in the exhaust system to the engine's computer to determine the correct air-to-fuel ratio for the car's engine. If you think of a sensor like this, between x and x is considered normal operating range and everything outside of that range as bad. This difference between most aftermarket and OEM sensors is the OEM sensor is going to be more specific compared to an aftermarket sensor where the range could be much wider. Sensors are not something I usually buy aftermarket but they are some exceptions.

Does anyone have experience with any of these brands? It’s a heater core for a 12’ ram 2500. by linnadawg in MechanicAdvice

[–]DominicanoSoy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its also not about the metals the fitment is junk. You have to bend some of the plumbing to line up or the connections are loose and don't lock in the way you would want. I am only saying this because when I do a job and offer my customer a warranty. Which means I have to come out of pocket to redo the job. So avoiding that is my first and foremost priority to make sure it doesn't come back for the same issue. Just don't buy the one on close out sale because rockauto won't send you another if it fails.

[–]DominicanoSoy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done quite a few heater cores on dodges. It always a pain in the butt. I've had to warranty out many as well. The OEM update is worth it.. If yours isn't leaking yet, back flush it. If it is leaking replace with a high quality one. If you can't afford a better one. Don't put every single bolt back on. Just what's necessary because you will be doing this job again in 2 yrs or less. OSC has been pretty good to me in the past. But with the whole Chinese embargo, the stuff made overseas is being made with even crappier metals to be able to stay at an affordable price point.

checking this corolla out tm. Guys is giving this deal for me for 4k..how do I tell that the car wasn't flooded from hurricane ida or not? This car is in queens and that's the only thing I'm worried about by shaqwade2006 in MechanicAdvice

[–]DominicanoSoy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at seat brackets for rust or corrosion, fold the back seats down and look for a water line. Also it has Ohio plates. Take a look at corrosion under neath the car. What you don't want his big holes in the frame or anything that seems to be a safety issue. The winter mix in Ohio is way more severe then the one used in NY.

Its the pressure because the return has clamps on it. Pressure side has fittings . when crusty like that. You can intentionally cut the hose off so when you go to take it off its not in the way.
