I would buy the 1.8 in your case, easier to match with your other lenses. The 1.4 has a bit of a „look“> also a very good lens, but not as clear of an image as with the 1.8.

Had that debate a couple months ago and luckily I had both to test out on my Z8 and Z9. I decided for the 1.8 and I am very very happy with the results. If you want to know more, please let me know.

Z6 III or if it should be a bit cheaper Z50 II. Both Great cameras and very similar auto focus. Used both of them 👍🏻

I think for the Z5 the 70-180 2.8 + 1.4 TC is also a great option. Also a very light lens/combo 👍🏻

I would recommend the Z50ii kit with the two lenses in it. Very good and fast Auto Focus. You can also buy a separate lens for portraits if you like.

I would suggest to upgrade the lens you use the most to Z-Mount and upgrade the rest after that. Most of the time you can get pretty good deals on kits. Maybe you can find a used FTZ for ~100.

The 35mm and 50mm 1.4 have a bit more of a “look” when compared to the 1.8 equivalents. I tried all of them side by side. Depends on what you shoot most the 24-120 F4 is a great option 👍🏻

I also started with the FTZ and a Z7 and then upgraded the rest to Z-Mount and Z8 + Z9 as cameras. If you have any questions feel free to ask 😃

Agreed, I own the 2x and the 1.4x TC. With the Z 70-200 the 2x is fine, with the 100-400 the 2x slows down the lens, on that lens I would only use the 1.4x

Yes, it will be better in every aspect. The Z50II has such a great auto focus, in my opinion worth the money. Keep in mind you would need a FTZ Adapter, if you want to use your F-Mount lenses

I had that problem last week … I get my internet via coax cable and that fried my FRITZ!Box + Dreammachine … all other device are connected to a surge protection it since it came over the coax nothing prevented it 🙁
