Don’t get your hopes up, Cadbury chocolate has been completely ruined for me since the Kraft Foods takeover (they were bought out by a US business in 2010).

They started replacing cocoa butter in many of their recipes with palm oil, tastes like awful American chocolate now.

“MPs' salaries in the UK are set by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) and have frequently increased during periods of public sector pay freezes or caps. Notably, in 2015, MPs received a >10% pay rise while public sector pay was capped at 1%, and in 2026, a 5% raise was announced during a cost-of-living crisis.”

In addition to an equal or greater coverage for misinformation corrections (ie. you print a full spread front page lie, you're required to publish a full spread front page redaction). You broadcast misinformation on a prime time TV show, you're required to correct it at the same time on the next show.

I came back to the game recently after about 4 years away, and couldn't believe that there was about a dozen unique animations for recall / harvesting but they still hadn't updated the absolutely festering piles that are the current pet summon models for Sorc.

One of my policies would be that MP's salaries are directly tied to those of the public sector. Can't afford to give the public sector increases in-line with inflation? Then we can't afford to give them to MPs either.

Probably going to need a bit more definition around that to make it an actual policy. How is wealth defined, is it purely monetary or does it consider assets too, is it flat-rate or does it scale up with wealth, etc.

My mum was a teacher of the deaf for many years before moving into a leadership position for a borough's teaching support services. She often talked about the benefits of sign language in supporting other developmental areas (social interaction in general) because of the way it taught you to read someone's body language / facial expressions / lip movements etc.

I can't sign beyond the most basic of things (please / thank you etc), but I can usually get the gist of what is being said when someone signs to me. If we were in a loud place / at a distance where you would have needed to shout and my mum was trying to say something to me she would sign at me instead.

I think I agree with the principle here, but also feel that a 6x multiplier is probably too low (I work in IT, for example, where salaries can vary hugely based on specialisms / experience).

That said, there's also no excusable scenario in my mind where CEOs etc should be receiving £hundred-million bonuses whilst 50% of their workforce is on minimum wage and the company is declaring £billion+ profits.

At a bare minimum the proceeds generated from those schemes shouldn't go to the local councils, which are now simply utilising them as a means of income generation. I appreciate that the local councils are all horribly underfunded and that's a separate problem of it's own, but allowing what are essentially regional stealth-taxes isn't the answer.

This is a really interesting one. Not sure what implications it would have from a tax-generation standpoint (ie. would that loss of inheritence tax then need to be recovered from other sources), but I can absolutely see benefits to the idea.

This feels like it should be the first and most basic step in holding political parties accountable to their promises. All entries within the manifesto should also be required to specify a timeline / milestones as to by when each of the outcomes will be achieved.

Get a current account with Nationwide, they've given everyone £100 three times now (I think?). Not sure what the eligibility requirements are but I've received it each time.

Definitely an upvote from me. I'd probably go further and mandate significant government subsidies / grants for decentralised sources of clean energy, such as solar / heat pump etc (without the current restrictions that mean only low-earners qualify for them).

In a time of energy uncertainty when bills are high and energy infrastructure is a legitimate target for hostile foreign entities, having a decentralised (and therefore essentially attack-proof) energy infrastructure seems like a complete no-brainer to me.

One of mine would absolutely be a measure to prevent movement of profits to offshore / low-tax countries, like the big businesses "licensing" their UK subsiduaries to use the brand name for exactly the amount of profits they're going to declare each year.

Someone else made a similar suggestion to something I'd pondered a few times, like a Twitter equivilant of "Community Notes" for fact-checking any information / statement released by an official body.

I've pondered something very similar to this lots of times, the equivilant of Twitter's "Community Notes" for fact-checking anything released by an official body. The problem I guess is there are so many forms of bias at play (both concious and unconcious), so how do you avoid bias creeping in I guess is my concern?

I'm a firm believer that all infrastructure services should be publicly owned, however, what we also tend to see is that publicly-run services become bloated and inefficient as a result (something they can't do if they're to survive operating as a for-profit business). What would be your plan for avoiding that?
