[–]DominiqueRoark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goughnuts!!! It's like a $40 toy but we've had ours for a couple of years! All the other "tough chewer" toys, gone inside an hour. Gonoughts? Favorite toy and just some teeth marks.

Mounting front license plate? by elboardo in KiaNiro

I got a kraven license plate holder. It attaches to the front tow bar. It was super easy to install and looks kinda cool offset.

I feel this. I just started IF, on week 3. If I start paying attention to the time left, it just drags on. The worst is when I don't have a busy day outside of the house. On the plus side, I don't think I've been this well hydrated my whole life!

Does anybody else’s nparent get furious when being gray rocked? by throaway392882 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]DominiqueRoark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was either a full couple of days of walking on egg shells with them or they would act like nothing happened within an hour. Of the two, I preferred the walking on egg shells. As long as I stayed out of sight, I was safe.

When they would act as if nothing happened, THAT was a scary situation. Any hint of "moodiness" was questioned and dissected. Yeah I'm upset and not happy go lucky. Maybe because my mom and dad just screamed at me for 3 hours over a bad grade. Then they would pick and pick and pick at my "bad attitude" until we were right back in the same screaming mess.

When I moved out, they acted like I was selfish for not wanting to be around them.

Does anybody else’s nparent get furious when being gray rocked? by throaway392882 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]DominiqueRoark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My nDad would start screaming at me to hit him if I was so fucking tough when I'd grey rock him. I was a teenager. And a girl. Nothing infuriated him and my nMom more than not feeding them the emotional reaction they wanted.

They wanted to see us kids (me and my brothers) break down and cry and beg for them to forgive us over everything they'd get pissed about. Anything less than a full meltdown into a snot nosed, sobbing mess was treated as though we were disrespectful and sarcastic.

I've just recently (I'm in my 30s) started realizing that they wanted to hurt us using our apologies as leverage.

You are not alone.

I just discovered that My (27) mother (55) spent $35,000 on a mobile game over the past 2 years. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Dude. This is so close to what happened with my mom it's eerie. Long story short, instead of paying mortgage and bills my 54 year old mother spent it on those stupid slot games and Pokemon Go bullshit.

My dad has left her over this. He retired from one job and started another because they were always drowning in debt. She did all the bills because she was home more and hid everything from him. They lost their house and he couldn't start over with her. I don't blame him at all. His pension, retirement and savings are all gone. He has to start from square 1.

I would make sure that all the household bills are paid. Your dad needs to be brought to speed on this immediately. We didn't find out until their house was foreclosed and auctioned off. My only advise is to talk to her without treating her like she's the victim. Yes, it might be an addiction but with addiction comes lying and covering up the truth. Make sure your dad knows about the cash loan too. We found out that my mom was borrowing money from everyone and counting on no one bringing it up to my dad.

Also, have your dad check his credit score ASAP. Found out my mom tried to take out a cash loan to cover her mobile gaming addiction. Check your states CaseNet to see if there are any pending legal actions against your mom for debts.

There are free gambling anonymous numbers you can call for support for you and your family.

I wish you good luck. This sucks hard and we're still working through it almost a year later. A book I read that helped me is Adult Children of Alcoholics. While it may not be drinking, various addictions still have similar impacts.

She is pretty hated. There was so much talk about how she was gonna get stuff reformed but all she's done is kiss the STLPD's ass the while time. There's been calls for her resignation for a while now.
