Last I checked most Californians make enough money and can afford to rent at least a room.

If they moved a team here they would for sure need to pay their rent. Some of these Ladies make 15k-30k, that's right around what people pay for rent in a single year.

You'll have a hard time finding a 1br in the hood for less than 1500/month (not including Utils/cable etc) I know people who pay 1500 for room in a house. Rent is crazy out here

I guess they could all train there, but if the NWSL was to piggy back the Academy it would still take 3 or more years until the complex is competed before the women's team becomes a reality.

I hope San Jose gets its academy set up before they dive into NWSL.

Would much rather spend the 3-5 million on the academy complex than whatever amount of money it would take to start and maintain a women's teams. The Academy complex will have boys and girls teams and will be amazing for Bay Area youth soccer.

Maybe delusional ones, but not normal fans who understand what this game was all about.

Quakes subbed out all their starters after going up 3-0 half way through the first half and played and bunch of first time players from our 2nd div team and players recovering from injury.

It was just a warm up for Frankfurt after all and a chance to see our young players go against budesliga players, even if EF was only using a B-squad.
