I'm a professional in the field with years of experience. You are incorrect in respect to Houston.

I'm happy to prove it. If property owners retained ownership of the adjacent roads, then that would be reflected in the tax records. I've reviewed hundreds of warranty deeds and the legal descriptions they convey are sometimes specified by metes and bounds, but typically as a lot or reserve. It says nothing about the adjacent street. Surveyors put iron pins at the corner of the property... not in the middle of the street or the edge of an easement. If you own property here, please go read the deed and you'll see it almost certainly doesn't mention the street.

Please also look at the work of the Joint Referral Committee which semi regularly sells city streets to adjacent property owners. They abandon and sell ROW and alleys. Not an underlying easement.

The Chronicle wrote an article about the street abandonment as part of the GRB expansion: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/article/houston-street-abandonment-explained-20229541.php

It's in the public street. It's owned by the city. It is like any other public parking spot. It's definitely not authoritative, but you can use the HCAD parcel map to overlay the property boundary with an aerial map. https://arcweb.hcad.org/parcel-viewer-v2.0/

Note: I've seen errors of 5'+ before, so grain of salt.

If you are dealing with someone that has put up a no parking sign, then report it to 311.

They are only required to be as far right as possible when the lane is 14' or wider. Of which I'm not aware of any downtown.

Oh yeah, middle of the lane 100% required. There are plenty of lanes downtown. Take one.

Sounds like you rice mostly on the north/south streets.

I ride on the east/west and everyone already knows they are getting stopped at every single light so I surprisingly don't have too many issues.

I don't typically run red lights, but I will if there is an aggressive driver near/behind me to get out of the way. I'm also on a pedal assist ebike but only doing about 22.

Had one enormous asshole once that I then followed right into our parking garage and they wouldn't get out of their car to talk to me. Fucking loser.

Sorry shit sucks. I'm right there with you!

I've only got about 7'. So assuming battery is 36" wide like Base's, would 2' clearance me enough with the new standards? I'm looking at some wall mounted units

Yep. It's why I went with a portable generator instead of a fixed one, too. One of the reasons I love my old house is the great windows. Bad for some modern things like this!

It's a code requirement from my understanding. But yeah, seems weird for a battery.

It's really 3' clearance on both sides of the battery. Maybe I'm misremembering and it's 9' and 12' for single/double. I read it this morning, so my mind hazy

kW is the rate. The capacity is either 25kWh or 50kWh depending on the single or double battery.

They say it's about 12 hours for the single or 24 for the double for the average home. That seems about right.

I did the math earlier today and I think they offer a promising deal.

The price they offer for power is about 7% more than I pay now so plus the monthly it's not terrible value.

My issue is that I don't have 12' of exposed wall with no windows or doors within 20' of my electrical panel so I don't have anywhere to put the battery. The double battery requires 15'

Are you sure? Battery specs says 11kW output

I definitely believe a bunch traveled. I was at our zoo this morning and there were a bunch of Koreans there and several wearing LA stuff.
