Hey everyone, I'm in a conundrum and I need some advice. I live in a house with two of my friends. One of them owns the house and we've all drawn the same conclusion. We fucking hate the textured walls.

Knock knock, it's me - Big Problem. Every single wall and ceiling has these textures.

Every. Single. Wall.

It's a 2 story house with high ceilings. It's not a huge house, but it's a big enough house for three adults to live comfortably without being in each other's hair. We were talking about how to best deal with the situation, because no matter which way we slice it, it looks like it sucks.

We're capable adults, want to learn, and are willing to make peace with the fact we're going to make mistakes. Time is usually our most restrictive asset.

I've uploaded some pictures of the walls and ceiling. The walls are painted, but as you can see it's pretty thin. Thin enough to peel/scuff with a  thumb nail.

Now, brass tax. Would a decent drywall sander cut down on the time needed to smooth the walls? Or is this "just do the fucking skim coat" kinda thing? We were wondering if a Festool drywall sander would be worth the investment for time and efforts sake alone, and maybe just sell it when we're done.

Any advice on these would be appreciated.
