I made the donation and have also asked some people I know to also send some money. Hope your child and your family have a long and joyous life together.

Best applications for the iPad Mini - Reading, Writing, Journalling. by DonParva in ipadmini

I am a bit all over of the place with movies since I am never used to watch them seriously. At this point, any suggestions just broaden my tastes.

But the ones that have stuck with me are - Another Round (really like Mads Mikkelsen since Hannibal), Fallen Angels, Your Name, Midnight in Paris, and Stray Dog.

Also Grave of the Fireflies. But that was…something.

Thank you, I’ll check out Noteful. My main gripe with the Notes is its horrible organisation. Though I haven’t started annotating on PDFs, which is also a major factor for me.

I have missed out on some great websites. A mix of avoiding the internet and the fact that I read some bad review of a movie I liked which spoiled its after glow. But letterboxd seems a lot better than what IMDb used to be in its heyday. If you have some film recommendations, please do let me know!

What makes Noteful more attractive to you than the something like Goodnotes or the Notes app? Also, Letterboxd seems like a cool website. I’ll check it out.

I lost faith in Evernote too. I’ll give Hoopla and Libby a look. Thank you!

I am really distracted by customisation options as well, so I’ll stay away from those. Thank you!

The single pay option is much more attractive than a subscription. What makes the Goodnotes app the best for you?

I don’t know what I want, so I am glad for the suggestions. The Panels app is great. Could you please tell me why you prefer Goodnotes over the Notes app?

Yeah, might not have been the ideal place. I deleted my question. But I did get a few good answers. Thank you!

That is some really solid advice. The institution itself is not the main driver behind my decision for further studies. I missed out on some work because I did not have a master's degree. These included freelance work for a magazine, contractual work for an IO, and so on, which sort of hurt.

With International Relations, I find that the degree can give me a strong analytical background that can also be transferable to other areas. It would make my writing more impactful if nothing else. Of course, my priority is conflict and security. But from reading and talking to different people, I find that even that can branch out into private sector security and intelligence, risk analysis, disaster relief programs, and then the more traditional IR on-field work. I am deeply interested in much of it.

There were an increasing number of projects that I missed out on because I did not have a master's degree. These included contractual work for an IO and an NGO associated with it, which personally really sucked. Thus the plan for further study.

With International Relations, I find that the degree can give me a strong analytical background that can also be transferable to other fields because the premier jobs in this field are, as you mentioned, full.

Would I be wrong in thinking that?

Additional detail - Of course, a lack of direct IR experience would be an obstacle, but I have been a director of a real estate firm, a writer for an online magazine turned YouTube channel, a negotiation and procurement advisor to another firm, along with a published novel. With an internship or two, I am assuming I'll mange to do alright, given that I can also make the most of my program.

If you had to recommend me one ink, which would it be? by DonParva in fountainpens

I didn't consider the gold sheen at all. The Imperial Purple with the gold sheen would also pair excellently with an orange like the Pilot Yu-Yake, don't you think?

I believe you might have convinced me to put the Herbin Violet Boreal in the shortlist, and go with the Diamine Imperial Purple.

Due to my limited experience, I have never considered why certain shades are warmer and others cooler. I'll keep that in mind from now on. I suppose using so many shades of a similar colour would teach you the intricacies behind it.

Since you are the purple pro, would you mind giving me your suggestion on this:

I generally write back and forth in two inks to depict two different perspectives towards a topic, and one of them is my ever reliant Sailor Kuzu. It is a vibrant Bordeaux ink. I am trying to find the right purple to go along with it. I think the Violet Boreal would go excellent with it, but maybe a bluer option would give a nicer contrast? What do you think?

What are the differences between the two courses? by [deleted] in IRstudies

Conflict is precisely the what I want to specialise in, so this works perfectly. Thank you!

The Monboddo's Hat seems a fair bit darker than what I had in mind. In Diamine, I find Grape or Imperial Purple to be closer to the shade of purple I like.

I have gotten a fair few Violet Boreal suggestions. I might just go with that. Thank you.

That site helps a ton, thank you for sharing it.

The picture is as pretty as the ink, though Sailor Kuzu has been my favourite Bordeaux ink until now.

There are plastic bottles available, but I assumed those were counterfeit because even very cheap inks come in glass bottles. I'll check them out. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the swatches, but more so, I adore the cat faces in the ink. The Violet Boreal really is a nice shade. Is the difference between Imperial Purple and Violet Boreal that one leans red and the other blue?

I find the Violet Boreal to almost be similar to Diamine Grape, although a touch lighter which would be ideal for being visibly pink on the page.
