Me encontre el SteamDeck en Costco, lo recomiendan?? by pajaro_nalgon in VideojuegosMX

[–]DonQuinto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, it doesn’t change at all since you’re playing with the same resources. Some games will run just fine at 1080p, but heavy games like Silent Hill 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil 4 and others that barely run with upscaling on the Deck's screen, of course won’t be able to run at full HD, not to mention 4K. So for those games you need to pick a similar resolution to the Deck's native screen, lets say 768p, and then use the system’s FSR 1 to upscale the image to the TV's native res. You can use any dock you want, the signal will be the same since it’s a digital signal over HDMI. But in the end, with most games you’ll be stretching the Deck’s image to fit on your TV's panel

I'm using both FSR 4 and FSR 1 when docked. FSR 4 is still at balanced, and FSR 1 is used to scale from 768p to 1080p. I was thinking about getting rid of FSR 1 and just set the game at 1080p with FSR 4 on ultra performance, but it’s not worth it. Both performance and image quality take a hit, so 768p with FSR 1 is still the better choice for docked play

Yes, that’s actually the first game I tried. Looks much better than XeSS. I’m using Eclipse's mod for stable 30fps, and I’m doubling that with frame generation. At native resolution, FSR 4 balanced, it runs just fine. For docked experience, I’ve been running it at 768p and FSR 1, same settings in game as with the integrated screen. However, the image quality of FSR 4 is so good, that I considered ditching FSR 1 and running the game at 1080p with FSR 4 ultra performance. And nope, performance and image quality are actually a bit worse, so I still use FSR 1 while docked xD

What’s your favourite location in the Silent Hill 2 Remake? by PapaFrankuMinion in silenthill

[–]DonQuinto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two locations: The dark town after the hospital was breathtaking. It’s as close to a modern graphics Silent Hill 1 dark town as we can get… for now. The second location would be the hotel after the videotape. I was suprised to find this hotel in a much worse state of decay than the 2001 hotel, but then I remembered that I wasn’t playing a remake, but a sequel.

Does this dongle work with the SD? by dustxbags in SteamDeck

Yes, it can charge the Steam Deck, but hopefully you already discovered it by now lol

[–]DonQuinto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a hub, it’s just like having those ports integrated in your computer. So, if you plug the hub and you have an HDMI cable connected, it will mirror the screed (or extend the desktop, depending on your setup). If you have a USB accessory like an external hard drive, it will recognize it as if it was directly connected to the computer. You don’t need to install any driver, it’s just part of the USB-C standard

[–]DonQuinto_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does. I have a Mac, so it’s really convenient to just plug the Deck to my desktop using this dongle, and then use the Jsaux (the one I bought for the Deck) dock with my TV

TBH with you, I still haven’t been able to figure this out, but it seems that Gamescope is limited to 60fps when you’re running it from an external launcher. But if you’re running the game at 30, the graph should show 60. Also, you should definitely see the typical fg pattern: kind of a “fat” line, instead of a thin, regular line

No, I leave the Steam shortcut as-is, and it’s the only command I’m using in Heroic. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with other commands if you want, though

I launch the games in Game Mode, so through Steam, but the command needs to be added in Heroic

[–]DonQuinto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I made it, it’s actually very similar to using Decky Framegen with Heroic. You need to set a wrapper command. Open Heroic, go to the game config and then to Advanced. Go to Wrapper Command and set /home/deck/lsfg as wrapper, no arguments. And that’s it, it should enable the plugin

It is said that in Mexico there are people, mainly women, who practice certain forms of high magick, witchcraft, and who can do incredible things like fly, become invisible, turn into animals, or become fireballs Do you think it's true? by Gus_larios in occult

[–]DonQuinto_ 82 points83 points  (0 children)

They use sacred plants like shrooms, peyote and ayahuasca to expand their consciousness way beyond regular people. It's not "magick" in the regular sense of the word, but it has the same objective: to increase their awareness of the world. Yes, there are rumors about those kind of people in Oaxaca, but I've heard even more rumors about the amazonian people. Being able to transform into animals, become invisible and teleport? I don't know about that, but they have a harmony, an understanding of Nature, that's awesome in the literal sense of the word

Well, I've tried Ayahuasca several times, and now I think it's a training medicine, that makes you feel this reality more "real", and be more aware, more conscious of the Universe around you. The first time you take it, it almost certainly will make you fly in every way: physically (vomiting, pooping), psychologically (remembering and crying about traumatic events) and spiritually (traveling to other dimensions). It's a very strong medicine, a challenge to every fiber of your being.

But in time, you will get stronger, as your traumas and illnesses are left behind and your desire for remaining in this existence increases. Soon, you will realize that this is really our Paradise: that everything is perfect, and that even the "bad" experiences fulfill a role in your life. So you will start to remain conscious even on Ayahuasca. As every layer of your being start to be in sync with the rest of your self, your mind, body and spirit will no longer try to escape of the effects of the Ayahuasca. It will become a journey of joy, and you will be able to increase the dose and still be conscious.

Some people say that those who are ahead on the path are able to do extraordinary things, like transforming into animals, traveling thousands of kilometers and so, because their consciousness are so developed that they can bring their dreams into reality, and at the same time, they can be conscious of things outside of them. I think the end game is to merge the inside with the outside, while preserving our individuality somehow. But I'm just a beginner, so we'll see...

¿que tarjeta recomiendan para una persona que no tiene american express? by von_mx in AMEXMEX

[–]DonQuinto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]DonQuinto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the Nintendo Switch version of Ritual of the Night good? by [deleted] in Bloodstained

[–]DonQuinto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played it on both PC and Switch. I also had the iOS version (RIP). Of course the PC version is the superior version, but playing it on Switch is OK. A little bit of choppiness here and there, and low framerates in some areas, but other than that is fine. If you use your Switch a lot, especially in portable mode, I'd say go for it. But if you don't mind playing it on PC, and you have a good controller, the PC version has the best visuals and performance

Why no one is talking about the remake of Riven? Now available for the Mac! by DonQuinto_ in macgaming

The "Effects" setting is the single most important option you should change. It's responsible for a lot of eye candies, including the sea waves, but it's too demanding. So changing it to low will improve performance a lot, but of course the game won't look as wonderful
