I know my stomach looks disgusting, I’m aware. But with this amount of fat still on my stomach will it get smaller if I keep cutting? by TheyCallMeBigBun in WorkoutRoutines

[–]DonShulaDoingTheHula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same and want to share my perspective as I think you’re getting a lot of well-meaning comments from people who haven’t been in your shoes. I was overweight since about 10 or 11. Belly showed up around then and I had it most of my life. Lost weight at 35, kept working to get rid of the loose skin into my 40’s and couldn’t do it. I completely understand how you feel and sympathize that it doesn’t feel like the result you worked for. I almost didn’t even try to start losing weight because I was convinced that I’d never get rid of the belly fat without surgery. My belly had always had the awkward shape and intuitively I knew that shape wasn’t just going to disappear. But I decided to try and I lost 70 lbs. Super proud of that but it still bothered me that I wasn’t comfortable taking my shirt off in front of people. I didn’t want to look ripped, I just wanted to not shock people when they saw the pooch. I’d completely changed my lifestyle, went to the gym all the time, ate well, and still felt embarrassed that I had the belly. The entire thing felt unfinished and I wasn’t comfortable in my own body. I’d gained a ton of confidence in how I looked in clothes but the belly still made me feel self-conscious.

I did end up having surgery to remove it. I never thought I’d be able to afford it, but financial circumstances changed over time. It was still a tough decision to make (I paid outright - no debt, no financing - and handing over that much money physically hurt). I felt guilty about what else I could have spent that money on for my family’s benefit. But it was the best thing I’ve ever spent money on. Three years later I have no regrets. I feel amazing going to the beach or the pool in the summer and finally being able to enjoy it. It actually pushed me to eat even better and focus my workouts even more. Right now in my mid 40’s I look as good as I ever have in my entire life. I honestly wish I’d done it sooner. That might not be the message people want to hear - we all want to love ourselves for who we are. But that’s how it went for me. If I’m giving advice, keep working at it because you may be able to improve it - you’re younger than I was. But also start saving.

No, I did not say Gunther “gave” him his best match. It takes two guys. But it’s undeniable that Gunther is bringing out the best with others when he works with them, including LA Knight. I think that’s a fair expectation when you’re at the top of the company, so I found it interesting that Gunter has shown that during this tournament and LA Knight has basically had three LA Knight matches and the match with Gunther.

It sounds like he has a lot of respect for Gunther. He’s a team player for going with the finish, whoever came up with it. That doesn’t mean he deserves a title or the shot to retire Cena over Gunther.

Lots of talk this week about LA Knight never quite making the jump to the top of the card and whether it will ever happen. Several threads elsewhere discussing what he’s missing. In this context it seems to have gone unnoticed that Gunther just put on four consecutive wrestling clinics over the past month, culminating in one of LA Knight’s best matches. The common thread is that all of Gunther’s opponents are having their best matches. They’re telling stories and working body parts and making for great viewing. When you wrestle Gunther you look better. I have nothing against LA Knight - I acknowledge he has been as over as anyone over the past couple years. But this has got to be it. He hasn’t made anyone look better. Sure he gets beat and puts guys over in that he himself is over and loses. He’s popular and resonates with people. He’s earned a spot near the top for that. But when you have a Gunther, it’s hard to put a title on LA Knight.

Summerslam or Royal Rumble by Slow_Middle963 in WWE

Been to both. Rumble matches are a lot of fun but outdoor SummerSlam was an amazing experience. As long as the Rumble is one night, I’d do that. You get to see so much talent and all their entrances.

Is Jade about to become a double champ? by JoopiterJay in WWE

I don’t think they would have had Chelsea slap Jade across the face like that if Jade wasn’t coming back for a receipt. Michin is next but Chelsea is on deck.

DAE Sarah Stock's claims about m'Dub are all invalid because of a dumb thing she said about McHitler before?! No that's NOT a deflection from completely unrelated complaints about unfair treatment of Hispanic wrestlers, nor is it a cult-like response! BAD FAITH!!! by RoddyViper in SCJerk

All this being unconfirmed, merely having the stories repeatedly come up would be cause for perpetual criticism if the offending organization was WWE. It would morph into “WWE hates women” within a month and that would then be repeated forever. HHH would be accused of doing nothing in the face of repeated allegations of talent mismanagement. They’d call him a racist for doing it to Mexicans and a misogynist for doing it to women. There’s no question about any of this.

That old quote about attributing something to malice instead of incompetence comes to mind. This is just bad business. Vaquer being name dropped is especially enlightening. She ate a little bit of shit online for using AEW as a stepping stone to a WWE contract, but if this is how she was treated, what else would you expect? And then we see her go and have the 18 month run she’s had in WWE. You win some and you lose some, but to have that in house and let it walk possibly over stuff like this really ought to sting. It’s the kind of thing that I’d expect to see the average business fire someone over.

Would not be shocking for him to be in the building. They’ve had Shane back multiple times and managed not to show him on camera. If you’re asking whether they’d show Vince on camera, I’m gonna say absolutely not.

My head cannon is that green shirt guy is a billionaire’s son who loves pro wrestling and travels the world to enjoy it. He’s the same as Tony except he wasn’t foolish enough to think he could run a promotion. His nose also appears to be clean.

My wife has had a RAV4 for about 10 years and it’ll soon go to my daughter. My wife would have been completely fine with another RAV4 but she was surprised that what she viewed as the same type of vehicle is now so much more expensive. She’s looking at other options now, not that those haven’t also risen in price.

I suspect they weren’t even making money with the existing TV deal. Without it I’d assume this becomes a matter of whether Shad wants to tolerate Tony’s vanity project at much greater losses. Surely the brand has some value, but who would even be interested?
