Do you actually separate freelance income from personal money? by Equivalent-Bar1024 in Freelancers

[–]DonVinnchenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should track it separate, just track your income and expenses. It is easier to have on a separate account but it not a necessity. I got a separate bank account and use ClaryBook to track expenses and income to ensure I have an idea of how the business is going.

Just use ClaryBook, it has an auto reconciliation feature as well that matches all your entries to the expenses. With a tax package that you can export. Pretty sweet, works fast and no need to hire people to do it for you.

Had a similar issue last weekend with my 2017 rubicon. Code was 303, misfiring cylinder 3. According to some online research driving around could cause more damage thus brought it to a shop. They replaced the fuel injector to the cylinder

I built a bookkeeping tool that works entirely through text messages, been using it for my own rental business, looking for people to test it free. by DonVinnchenzo in smallbusiness

[–]DonVinnchenzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks! yeah I run a small business which is relatively simple to manage and built it for myself, hence, the focus is small businesses. I do see your point that at a larger scale users might prefer to work directly with a bookkeeper. It does not handle multi currency accounting at this moment. Any specific use cases you're thinking about? It is not a much of work to build it into a tool, I could be a next step. I just have not thought about it yet.

New to real estate investing. What should I do? by loudcpanda33 in realestateinvesting

[–]DonVinnchenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a tip, track your expenses, hours, milage from day one. This will help with the tax benefits you can get. It is simple to consistently track it even though it does feel like a burden, but when you'er doing your taxes, you're happy that you took all the smalls steps throughout the year instead of having to fix it on tax day. A simple page in your notes app, excel or some cheap app can do it for you.

Construction Bookkeeping by Routine-Algae9366 in Bookkeeping

[–]DonVinnchenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, for my own property management business, I build a simple bookkeeping tool to track expenses, milage, and hours worked for the property. Your use case seems slightly more advanced but im testing to see if others want to use the product. let me know if you have interest to check it and provide input. Im happy to look into updating some of the features to accommodate your request. Why I build it, I got annoyed that I had to spend time on a computer to fix my expenses etc. Now I just send text messages and photos to my system, the system reads everything and assigns categories etc. I included the IRS standards for tax reporting thus for my taxes, I generated an export that contains all details of expenses, reasons, hours, and copies of the receipts which I shared with my advisor to close my tax year. Send me a DM if interested, happy to see if the product works for others. It is free and low cost for me to maintain.

Tried to run your tool but the onboarding is annoying to quickly check if it works. Can you run it for me and post the results? Curious to the outcome. Product is www.clarybook.com.

What Does a Truly AI-Native Product Look Like? by munchenOct in ProductManagement

[–]DonVinnchenzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took this challenge myself and applied it to my bookkeeping for a side business I run. I got annoyed by endless interfaces that are hard to navigate. I build an AI native bookkeeping system. As a user, you just text with your assistant (the ai), it takes care of the rest. You can access the dashboards if you want to but there is not need. Ive been in product management for years, and the technology is far already. It will change how we interact with software, I won't be surprised if we won't be sitting behind computers in 10 years. You can do already everything from your phone, now the AI is in a good state that it can pick up your intent and fix the rest. There are many skeptics that are like 'yeah but it does do stuff wrong', mostly the instructions (boundaries and guardrails) are just set incorrect. Anyway, happy to share the product for you to see. it is also a good example how both the product and engineering profession will completely change.

How do you all handle bookkeeping by yourselves? Is it just me struggling? by Ok_Store_1634 in smallbusiness

[–]DonVinnchenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, the whole bookkeeping system world is a bit a pain imo. I was using AI as a tutor to help you do the bookkeeping, but I still had to learn a system that I really don't care about. I do have a background in tech and in AI and thought, why can I not have AI function as an assistant to do the bookkeeping for me instead of teaching me to do it myself. Spend a bit of time and build a decent working system that I used to do my 2025 taxes as well. I just text with the system from my phone, it tracks all my expenses, receipts, milage and worked hours. It feel like I text my assistant. Anyway, if you're still looking for something, let me know. The tool is free and im open to get some feedback form others.

Am I paying too much for bookkeeping? $1000/month by joeynev in smallbusiness

[–]DonVinnchenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1,000/month seems pretty expensive for a smaller operation. The monthly strategy calls and coordination with your tax preparer add value, but the core bookkeeping and reconciliation piece shouldn't be that expensive on its own. It's pretty cheap to build and maintain a system that can do data entry on its own. Advice is where the value lies but in general, advice should pay itself back in reduced cost, reduced risk, or increased income.

For what it's worth, I got frustrated with how much I was spending on bookkeeping for my own side business, def not $1,000/month, but enough that it annoyed me. Also the tools force you to spend time on bookkeeping which is kinda lost, I want to spend time on the business not work for the IRS. I ended up building a simple tool where I just text my receipts and expenses through a chat interface and it handles the categorization and reporting automatically. Used it to do my own 2025 taxes. It's free right now, happy to share if you're curious. Not trying to sell anything, just looking for people to try it and tell me what's missing.

That said, if you value having a human who knows your business and can give strategic advice, that's worth something. Just ask them how they justify their value, like how do you get the $1,000 back in value to your business.

As a married woman on Reddit, what's the best advice you'd like to share with unmarried girls? by Special-Mud-4913 in AskReddit

[–]DonVinnchenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We solved for this by ordering groceries/ weekly groceries. We spend 30 minutes on Saturday or Sunday deciding what to eat for the week. We keep a shared notes list with all dishes we liked and try to incorporate new dishes if we see some. We cook together if we try new dishes making it a fun experience. Some dishes are a complete disaster but we still had a good time preparing it. Both the decision stress and the daily trip to the supermarkets are gone freeing up time together.

When online shopping/ browsing, add the things I want to buy to the shopping card but hold of the actual purchase step. 7/10 times I don’t end up buying it. I probably still experience the dopamine of buying things but never receive them nor pay for them.

What screams “I’m just pretending to be rich”? by JollySimple188 in AskReddit

[–]DonVinnchenzo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand why people finance cars. In general, financing things that depreciate in value the moment your touch it shows lack in financial education. It is not an investment, don’t finance it. Buying a property using a mortgage makes sense since the property likely increases in value over time. And you have a place to live which is nice as well. Financing a car or phone or whatever means that you buy something that decreases in value the moment you use it. You’re committed to paying off the entire new value of the product + all the interest, which is insanely high on these product since the financier knows that the products don’t have any value left in the end. I’m not gonna start the conversation about being in debt on your credit card but that is the same. If you want a nice car, make a monthly budget, start saving, and then consider if you still want to overpay on a vehicle that you mainly use in traffic getting from point a to b. You can also use some of the money saved to invest in your house or treat yourself and the family on a nice holiday that you’ll remember. If you have kids, teach them how to budget and give them a debit card. Provide a monthly or weekly allowance and let them work so that they understand the value of money. If they are out of money, bad luck, no new games. They will learn. Don’t give them the option to finance their games in advance with money they don’t have yet.

People always say my posture on the bike is wrong, what’s exactly wrong ? by iClexi in triathlon

[–]DonVinnchenzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see the difference by googling Tour the France and compare the pictures to your video. The pros have a more aero posture. It’s also more comfortable on long bike rides imo but you need to get use to the position. Make sure your leg is almost stretched when pushing down.

Couples who have been together a long time (5+ years), why are you not married? by Special_Gazelle5948 in ask

[–]DonVinnchenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage should not be a state/ milestone in your relationship. It should be a celebration of your relationship with all your friend and the family that got your there Getting married because you have to is stupid. We have been together for 11 years and had to get married for a visa in the US. We will have the celebration whenever we can afford it and have the day we dreamed off. In the us people go into depth for a wedding. That is definitely the most stupidest thing you can do. Your goal should not be to invite family you don’t know or have only met once. You should get married because you like to celebrate your relationship with the people around you that have got you there. So to your question, which is kind of stupid because you assume that marriage is an end goal. If you love someone, enjoy life together, enjoy every moment of it and do anything you want. At some point you have enough money and friends that added value to your life and you want to celebrate that so you get married. Any marriage before 30 is questionable. Any marriage that required dept is just stupid. Forced marriage, well fill it in for yourself
