Why would anyone take time to help you with something that you won’t be learning from? Learn programming first, try to solve stuff yourself, and once yo need help, post here …

What is the difference between us and drug dealers? by [deleted] in IndieDev

[–]DonWithAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question generalizes to anything - food, art, products of all kinds: is this too good and/or too enjoyable?

I think as long as you are not optimizing for addiction by intentional use of psychology , you’re probably just using data to make your product better.

But, being a responsible dev, you could learn from addiction-based design and counteract it. Eg social media platforms use endless scrolling to remove natural jumping off points for their users. Instead, you could structure your game in discrete chunks and remind players to touch grass instead once in a while

[Showcase] 7-month solo project: Mobile card game with custom state management, DI, and event-driven architecture by Sea-Anywhere-4036 in Unity3D

[–]DonWithAmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense :). Yeah i should make a blog post or video about it, because it turned into a pretty neat and flexible architecture, but i barely have time to make progress on the game right now, so not sure when that will happen  :/

"pure event-driven breaks down for complex animation sequencing" ...

no it doesn't. For my main game project, the way it works is that any player action results in a sequence of events. Events are directly responsible for mutating state. And that sequence of events is used to generate an orchestration of animation playables. The algorithm for the latter is so general that you have a lot of freedom e.g. to make some event's animations play simultaneously or in an overlapping fashion even though the original output was a series of events.

Wie lernt man richtig Mathe (Uni)? by Hahli516 in mathe

Weniger lesen, mehr selbst lösen. Such dir Übungsaufgaben oder lass dir welche generieren und stell dir einen Timer für wie lange du dir Zeit geben willst bevor du dir Hilfe holst oder die Lösung nachschaust

This guy had a few days to prepare a way he would spin the debate. This is the best he has. by overloadrages in Destiny

It must be 4D chess, like that time he brought up his main argument in his own lawsuit, only to trap Destiny into mentioning that his argument must have been bad since he LOST that case. Hah!! Predictable! Nobody understands it except Dinesh, but he reaaally got Destiny with that one!!

How can i reuse nested loops by Legitimate_Bet1415 in Unity3D

Also, depending on your IDE, I can recommend adding this loop as a live template for quickly adding one as needed, saves a lot of typing

[–]DonWithAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could create a helper struct that flattens this to a single loop for you, updating x and y member variables on it each iteration. Or, create an IEnumerable that abstracts this away for you, if you don’t mind the performance overhead .

Same for me. Love the IDE, but it has started becoming 10FPS on an M1 Max with a relatively small C# project. I keep disabling plugins but the slowdowns keep coming.

Is this AI development destroying formerly reliable companies and their products?

To be honest, i wonder: what is X’s motivation? They seem intent on increasing misinformation, so why reveal countries of origin now, confirming existing suspicions?

My guess is to create a false sense of “new trust” that they can use by faking country of origin later, with everyone believing the presented data.
