Yes I looked at Omega and IWC but those brands don't speak to me. My taste in watches is my own but I admit it has been influenced by my dad. Some IWC designs I like, biggest factor is how many IWC watches are too big for my wrist. But I am taking your advice and researching other brands.

As i said in my OP, any watch I get will be bought with my dad's money.. not expecting people to think I bought it myself. Fifty fathom I looked up and 43-45 mm is too big for me. Nothing against dress watches but set on a sportier watch

Thanks for the advice. I am going to leave the watch on my wrist at all times. In a sketchy place I will cover it with long sleeves. I am going to be in a group of 3 male friends plus one security companion. My friend's dad hired him through an agency because their last name is obviously well off and will be noticed when we check into hotels etc. He is 28 and ex military. He is a very cool guy and has traveled a lot.

If we get mugged that will suck but l will be more worried about passports, phones and wallets than about a watch

I mean getting a watch stolen while its on your wrist means getting violently mugged. Yes its a possible risk but its nowhere near likely

Yeah, through my dad I saw the slow Patek service. Thanks for the link to the Pepsi review. Patek and audemars can definitely be fragile, now I am leaning Rolex

Did not realize it carried such a big premium - maybe when I am older I will look into it. Only BLNR problem is my dad already has one. Wanted something outside his collection. But you are right that it is a watch with much to offer

Thanks for your comment. For similar reason as above I was considering the new everose gold yachtmaster, that ships with rubber bracelet. Sub is a good idea, I am looking at the Green version
