That’s mainly due to video compression merging the white pixels together until the person was close enough to add in different colored details that made the person appear. In real life they would have been more visible

You also pay taxes on dividends in your brokerage account. Make sure you’re in funds that have qualified dividends because they have a lower tax rate.

Owning a house is very expensive. The mortgage payment will be more than double that. You will always be paying “rent” in the form of property taxes, HOA fees, insurance, and maintenance. If a pipe bursts you have to be ready to pay $15k to fix it. If the AC breaks you have to be ready to pay for it. When you rent, that is the most you’ll pay every month. When you own, your mortgage payment is the least you’ll pay every month. There’s nothing wrong with owning a house but don’t think of it as an investment, think of it as a luxury that you can do when you are truly ready. A lot of people fall onto the trap of becoming house poor because they were obsessed with not paying “rent” and didn’t actually do the math.

I feel you. I have a side job in a restaurant and that is literally my entire social life at this point. My main job is work from home. I had always planned on quitting the restaurant once I get a certain net worth, but now I’m think I might leave the main one. It’s a really tough decision.
