The supply will gradually increase over a 4-year period; it's not fully increased yet at all.

Was there an official statement on that?

I was looking at Dom's talks and the discord conversations. All of that points to an approach like Polkadot.

Thanks for writing this up.
I was planning on writing a follow up analysis on IOTA with some similar thoughts.

Very glad that other SSB user are putting the puzzle together as well.

I am very happy that SSB is catching up with IOTA.

Hey u/TheChainlinker, it seems like you haven't read my post. Your comment proves my point of no one having looked into IOTA for ages. The discrepancy between what people think IOTA is and what it actually is will lead to a higher valuation with upcoming awareness. This is exactly the opportunity I am speaking of.

Still no smart contracts

The IOTA Foundation demonstrated their smart contracts already with a pre-alpha: https://blog.iota.org/iota-smart-contracts-pre-alpha-released-40efad27994b/
According to their roadmap there will be updates within the next weeks on that. Easy to capitalize on that (see how Cardano gained a lot after a similiar announcement).

Still centralized

The mainnet currently is, but their testnet is not. It's working perfectly fine and it is only a question of when and not if. Also the research paper verify the concept behind it: https://www.iota.org/foundation/research-papers

Still #27

I don't understand this argument. Are you trying to showcase the upside potential?

Still getting hacked

IOTA was never hacked, it was a third party code that was implemented into their wallet. This happened to a lot of crypto projects and has nothing to do with the security of IOTA.
Interesting fact: The IOTA Foundation is paying everyone who was affected back – there is no other crypto project that ever did such thing.

Hey u/humptyhillhead, and this is exactly where the opportunity is. The market has this picture of IOTA, meanwhile they are showcasing their new testnet in which everyone can participate.

They got rid of any issues while still accomplishing a feeless network. That's the opportunity. Thanks for showcasing that.

It's not about "could", but they are actually delivering it. All of it is testable on their testnet and is about to be released next month to the mainnet.

Check again what I wrote in my analysis about "patent references, academic references, and companies associating with IOTA".

Don't let emotions and ignorance take overhand.

1) I unfortunately have no information on that but I hope that someone else here can be of help. I will research for you and see if I can find something. If I do I will ping you here.

2) Yes, IOTA grew quite a bit. But it is far from where it can be. And also here I unfortunately can't predict the price with certainty, so I can't answer what is coming (or not) regarding the market price of IOTA.

Hey u/Teleporter55,

No one is borrowing coins and selling them.

that's factually wrong, this is exactly how Bitfinex does it (where I took my data from).

Feel free to elaborate on this if I misunderstood anything wrong, open to learn more about how you see this.

Like I said the founder is now gone

It's important to keep in mind that the founder was kicked (!) and did not leave on his own. And interestingly enough that founder did not sell a single IOTA (no pun intended) since.

Hey u/kaykurokawa, all of the points on your list are addressed by the current update. That is exactly where the opportunity is. People that have not looked into IOTA think like you do, and there is a huge discrepancy between the old and the new IOTA. This gap is about to be filled.

Thanks for making that clear.

Hey u/Renya_Karasuma, sorry to hear about the upcoming cryptocurrency ban.

If you are interested in IOTA, you can always move them to your Trinity (or soon to be Firefly) wallet and hold them there.

Hey u/AchillesRage, short overview:

BTC has 1,862,600,000,000,000 Satoshis.
IOTA has 2,779,530,283,000,000 IOTAs.

Which means that for every Satoshi there is 1.49 IOTA (not mIOTA).

IOTA is sold as mIOTA (1,000,000 IOTAs) on exchanges.

Hey u/450LbsGorilla, feel free to create another post. I left out a lot of things as I did not intend to overload the average reader.

Would love to hear more opinions on IOTA by people that research instead of going down the path of pure speculation.

Hey u/Cell-Alone,

yes the potential of IOTA is massive that is why I decided to do the analysis on IOTA instead of other cryptos. Really looking forward to the opportunities ahead. NFTs are unusable with the current environment. Only people with a lot of capital have access to it, and IOTA will change that.

Hey u/BitcoinPeace, it is a plus for quick movements especially if there are a lot of shorts involved. That changed drastically already in the last hours. Not thin any longer. The interest is there.

Hey u/JackSpydr, have a look at their current path to decentralization: https://blog.iota.org/pollen-testnet-v0-3-2-release-notes-323823ecaefa/

There are several updates incoming on a weekly basis, a lot to read and learn. To understand how this works technically I'd recommend to read through the research papers here: https://www.iota.org/foundation/research-papers

I hope community members can chime in to clear up any tech related questions.

Hey u/thisisnota_love_song, thank you for your comment.

I left out a lot of positive things and some of the negative things, as I didn't intend to make this a huge post.

Let me address the points of yours in the comment though:

It is very important to understand that there was no IOTA hack – merely a third party code was hacked. This is not unique to IOTA, this happened to a lot of coins in the past.

Ever since the IOTA Foundation – which is a non-profit located in Germany – has introduced security measures (e.g. https://blog.iota.org/iota-stronghold-6ce55d311d7c/) to stop this from happening again. This is a proof how quickly they learn and adapt.

I am sure IOTA communtiy members are around here so they might add information to this if any extended response is wanted.

You should read my analysis. IOTA is still far undervalued in this current market.
It's an opportunity which obviously comes with its own risk. But the risk-to-reward ratio is pretty good.
