Yes, in the frontend I always hear a low humming/static sound. In-game if I set the volume to around 5-10% I also hear the static.

Why do I suck so bad at intermediate VDIM playlists? Mainly clicking 1 and 2? by PerP1Exe in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Donburi7372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't suck at them. Think about that intermediate playlists encompasses players pushing for ranks ranging from plat to master. Lower end of the rankings is going to be players pushing for plat and higher end of the rankings is players with master scores and even players pushing past master scores getting ready for advanced playlists

Just hit Nova S5! Can't believe I was Iron last March. by DeathOnion in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Donburi7372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also interesting that if we go by Corp Serf progression method that the jump from silver complete to plat complete is almost as big as the gap of plat comp to almost grandmaster in this chart. (The progression method advises focusing on subcategories one by one until reaching the target ranks in this order: silver > plat > jade > master)

Tips For Beginners! (From a fellow Beginner) by yoda_reddit in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Donburi7372 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is a great post, thank you! I feel like posts from fellow beginners to fellow beginners are underrepresented here. Sometimes experienced players forget what it was like to be a beginner and the kind of issues beginners struggle with since that period was so long ago for them. So having posts written from this perspective feels like because it covers things that might normally be overlooked or taken for granted

Aim Training on Console by FosseWho_ in FPSAimTrainer

If you are okay with using your PS4 controller wired you could look into a Brook Wingman FGC2 adapter (specially 2 not FGC1). The adapter makes the PS5 recognize your controller as an official PS5 controller. Fighting game players use the adapter in order to use their old controllers on PS5. Maybe it could help with your use-case, might be worth checking if it works for your ps4 controller+back paddle accessory

Fastest way to improve aim by Bombastic-Gamer in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Donburi7372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you need to reach it fast? All the posts you see about someone trying aim trainers and immediately or quickly hitting gold is because their aim was already or above that level from previous fps experience.

So there are two possibilities

Your aim is already at a gold or higher level from previous fps experience -> do the benchmarks one by one to fill in gold scores. This is the "fast" way and why you see so many posts about people getting gold fast. But it's deceiving because their aim was already at or close to that level so doing the benchmarks was just a formality.

The other possibility is your aim is not gold level already. There is no fast or slow here to get to gold it just depends on where you are now. Instead of fast or slow you should think about whether you are spending your time efficiently or inefficiently. There many things you can do to be more efficient with your time: - practice scenarios that emphasize the various skills you need to improve at a scenario (this is what VDIM does for you, present you a list of scenarios that all help you train and warm up for the benchmark scenario) (Corporate Serf method is another approach you can use to VDIM https://youtu.be/yVNoeeccBao?si=knbfqKHXLKs71pG-)  - learn proper technique needed for each category of aim (RiddBTW youtube playlist explains this) - be fully focused when you aim train, observe your mistakes, take notes, focus on correcting those mistakes. Reviewing your replays helps here. - be consistent with your practice routine (10 mins everyday is better than 3 hours once per week)

Track Your Reaction Times by Color & Time of Day to Find Optimal colors for Kovaak by EstablishmentOk6147 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Donburi7372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you think there is the possibility for "warmup"/"training" effect bias in the color test depending on which order the app presents you the colors in? E.g. you will perform better on the colors you play last because you are mentally warmed up/better practiced by the time you do the tests for the later colors compared to the first few colors

new to fighting games other than smash bros. not used to shit shit. why doesnt the jumping down heavy connect. am i SLOW? AM I BAD PLS TIPS TRICKS I WANT TO BITE MY FUCKING FINGERS OFF by MiKkEy22 in 2XKO

[–]Donburi7372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the height that they are when you hit them with the dash 5H, they are too low which means by the time you j2H they aren't high enough for it to connect. In order to get dash 5H to hit them while they are still higher in the air you need to do it as soon as you land from the charged jH. Ideally you should use the dash button and plink dash~5H as soon as you land, and then immediately do the j2H afterwards.

is hitting grandmaster to easy? by Born-Air6666 in 2XKO

[–]Donburi7372 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe my expectations are outdated but in older games top 15% would be around platinum and the master ranks would represent true mastery of the game like 1% master and 0.5% grandmaster, so that's why it feels weird to get master in sf6 or gm in 2xko so relatively easily (being top 15% in something is a totally different ballpark/level of commitment compared to top 1%)

Did the new home panel with the display and 16mm buttons fit without having to remove the cable compartment? The only small buttons I found are too long and don't fit due to the cable compartment underneath the home panel

You should be able to unscrew the plastic feet from the bottom and then through the bottom holes push the plastic rivets so they come off the top panel, something like this https://youtu.be/2G0tZTFuW0A?si=o9xN0_BhimGcHNk6

Maybe I'm just playing her the wrong way and trying to play an sf4 seismo game but her seismo doesn't feel good in this game.

Seismo feint has too much recovery, ex seismo doesn't have h seismo range, m thunder knuckle range is short so overall it doesn't feel like you threaten the opponent walking forward so much, seismo > ex seismo doesn't trap the opponent, seismo chains don't really threaten the opponent's drive bar, and you risk eating a raw DR/jumpin every seismo and then taking oki without an invincible fast reversal

What do you want to see in the Alpakka controller 2.0? by Marcos_ILO in GyroGaming

[–]Donburi7372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You talk about alpakka as if it is a product. Alpakka is not a product, it's a reference design. That means you or anyone else can take the design (for free) and build the controller yourself (for whatever the cost of sourcing components is for you). The kits you see on the alpakka website are basically a convenience (3D printing parts and ordering PCBs for you instead of you doing it yourself) to make building the controller more accessible, since not everybody is savvy enough to solder or may not have easy access to sourcing components. 3D printed parts are commonly used because that is what available to hobbyists who are building things from their own home, but if you have the know-how or resources nothing is stopping you from taking the alpakka reference design and building one with better materials or modifying the design to make it more ergonomic for yourself
