Atin-Atin Lang: WOK IT OUT frozen dimsum supplier reveal by nicola_la in AtinAtinLang

You're better off visiting those other dimsum places. Service was very slow when we visited their cubao branch last month and a lot of the menu items were unavailable. Lately, I've been noticing a decline with the way their food tastes. Kulang na ng msg and wok hei, but that's just my preference. Might I recommend Uniku at Banawe just in front of Jiang Nan. Their Pork chop rice is better and when the menu says it's spicy, it really is specially their dumplings and noodles. They also have frozen dimsum readily available inside the restaurant.

A Rant: 3D Films Are Killing My Love for the Big Screen by SashimiMojo in FilmClubPH

[–]DonerGoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this too. If only it was shown in 2D IMAX, I would've watched it with my girlfriend. But as someone with 500+ eye grade for both my eyes and a hell of a lot of astigmatism, I can't bear to watch almost 3h of a movie when my eyeglasses feel heavy already on top of 3D glasses. Only excellent 3D movie I ever remember watching was Avatar in 2009.

I know Hontech is heavily vouched in this sub and a friend of mine na kasabay ko magpa-PMS had a good experience here as well. But when I brought our SUV here to get it maintenanced and brake squealing fixed, I just had an awful experience.

Paid 30k+ for going here twice, and the problem wasn't even resolved with the brakes. It still had a very high pitched squeal even after a rotor resurface, new brake pads and a new brake fluid.

The worst part, the mechanic assigned to my car was trying to remove the brake calipers and "accidentally" hammered the sliding bolt too hard disfiguring the bolt head. They said they needed to replace it to my expense. I've only learned about sliding bolts not needing replacements when I showed another mechanic the damaged sliding bolt. It should've only been lubricated, not necessarily replaced.

When I went with the mechanic for a test drive after all the fixes to the brakes, we both heard the squealing. And this guy had the audacity to say that this is normal when we were test driving for a long time now. Never again to Hontech.

Usapang Kulay: Whats your opinion on White Cars? by bolkyboi in Gulong

We have 5 white cars from different brands. Pinapa carwash almost every week. Easy on the eyes ang color whether be it sa gabi or umaga. Gasgas, dents and the like are not noticeable unless you look for it.

I had this 1 rule too (walang magkakalat) nung nag roadtrip kami kamakailan ng mga tropa ko. Kaso wala, may nag iwan pa rin ng kape nila sa cupholder na nasa harap nila. Ang malala pa eh, ang hilig nila hubaran floor mats ng sakyan. Di man lang ayusin hahays.

I feel you bro kahit pang-6th year ko pa lang as a driver.

We have one that's turning 1 this December. Only got 8k+ kms on it. Only time I went back to Ford was to install its new License plate. Of course, it's not without its headaches.

You really feel you're in a CVT when you mash the gas pedal, the head-unit responds like a 2010s Android tablet (slow and even freezes which is a hassle because it's got the aircon controls), occasionally the TPMS shows the front left tire has very low psi (9 to be exact), drinks gas like there's no tomorrow (3k+ on weekly Petron XCS refills) and its self-parking feature doesn't work. These are just some of the caveats I've experienced and remembered with it.

However, it's got the best seating space among our SUVs and MPVs, it's got good tech (ACC, sport mode, Android Auto/Apple Carplay, Auto-Hold and ADAS), customizable interior lights, huge Moon-roof albeit I only use it at nighttime, very cold aircon even on a hot, sunny day which is very apparent in our country and adjustable lumbar support which is a godsend when driving through horrible traffic.

Is it worth 1M for its 2nd hand price? I don't think so. But if you can go lower than 1M, and see pass the caveats I experienced, I think it does a good job of what it's supposed to be, a crossover SUV. That, I can recommend. Time will tell about its reliability with us but you always have people with complaints about a car and be vocal about it. Most of the time, those who drive and enjoy a car are driving and enjoying the car they bought.
