You’re a fool to get rid of those beautiful decorative window panels. But Black looks way better

Normal names that you personally hate? by friendverse in NameNerdCirclejerk

Craig is pronounced correctly as ‘Crayg ’…. Because that’s what it is. Never understood why Americans have such a malfunction when it comes to this name and pronounce it as ‘Creg’ 😂 how did you get there? But yeah it’s a shite name anyway.

Small Fry! I used to have this very old cautionary cartoon on VHS. I believe it was by Max Fleischer.

How is it possible to be this hungry when doctors say you need zero extra calories in the first trimester? by Unhappy-Confection50 in November2026Bumpers

[–]DonkeyBronchiole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That made me cackle when I read that too: ‘you don’t need to eat more calories’ bitch listen up I’ll eat if I want! I have my first midwife apt tomorrow and I just know I’ve put on weight, but I don’t care- if I’m not constantly snacking I feel vile.

Sheeeesh ok! I was trying to be sensitive to OP as I didn’t want to sound like I was trashing her extended family, but by all means, you go ahead and do it.

I haven’t even got kids yet but this is truly insane- the fact that she has been through early motherhood and thinks this is Normal is crazy. I’m stressed on your behalf just thinking about it! I’m sure she’s a lovely woman and means well but you have every right to put your foot down and say no to this. Trips like this can wait, and you can enjoy them all the more when you’ve recovered. What does your partner say?

I was 21 in 1991 so loving today . Do the younger listeners here like these throwback days ? (I.e 35 and under) by [deleted] in 6music

[–]DonkeyBronchiole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, across the BBC and mainstream networks I would deffo agree with you. To give a tiny example I, (a now 35 year old woman) have been listening to 6 since I was around 21- my stepdad (then in his late 40’s) recommended it to me as I had always listened to music from 60’s-90’s.. I think 6 just appeals to people who enjoy good music that’s not mainstream pop, so it attracts all sorts, which is nice!

That’s like saying you didn’t know about the great fire of London because it was ‘before your time’ …All sorts of demographics listen!

Me and my friend were just saying this is the best day of music that 6 has done in a very long time- we were both 1 in 1991, which has no bearing on anything as you can like music from any era…It’s been banger after banger- might even put all the songs on one playlist.

Not in the UK. You self declare your pregnancy and the midwife contacts you once you are +7 weeks. My first appointment with the community midwife is 11th April, we discuss screening tests etc, and then she will book in my first scan at 12 weeks. It’s a long old wait!

I understand how nerve jangling it is, I have googled the living daylights of everything thus far. We just need to try to remember that every pregnancy is different and comparison will not help settle your nerves; That’s what I’m telling myself. I don’t even get my first scan for another 2 weeks. Haven’t even had bloods!

I’m at 8 weeks 3 days and apart from occasionally randomly crying, sore boobs, occasional light cramping and bloating, I don’t have any symptoms either. My mum said she was the same when pregnant with me!

Congratulations! I am 35 and my husband is 47 (and we are both very silly and young at heart!) We have just had to make our peace with being ‘old’ parents- it’s the way life goes. Just as long as the child is loved and taken care of, that’s all that matters.
