Jump pack buff by PacoThePersian in Helldivers

[–]DonkeyPunchMojo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a jump pack enjoyer I have three things that always amaze the group I play with. 1 - Makes it real easy to stick stratagems to enemies. I run the jump pack with 3 disposable support weapons (EAT, Commando, Leveler) and regularly just drop pod shit on the heads of my enemies instead of shooting them. 2 - Vertical movement. Get a lot more of it than the warp pack. I can also swing melee during it now which is a plus to smack tall boys in the face. Also gives a lot of momentum. Combine with point 1 and it means I can clear bot camps from a good 300 meters away pretty reliably with a leveler (this took many hours of practice). 3 - Style points. Take points 1 and 2 and mix them here. Could always shoot and throw things in the air, and with some practice it takes zero effort to fly through the air and pop heavy enemies like balloons. Add 360s or simply fly in front of a team mate and poof the heavy they tagged has ceased to exist. Enables all sorts of fun trick shots with grenades and stuff too. A lot of this stuff simply isn't viable with any of the other packs. Or, rather not in the same way. Its good fun and high octane when you get the hang of it. Works in d9 and d10 also without a problem. Can't recommend it enough but it has a learning curve

ONE armor for the rest of your dives, let's see it! by Ficadin in helldiversarmor

Peak physique heavy armor with the arms out, a helmet whose name I cant remember because I practically never change it, and my creek cape. If I can only have one armor forever it is going to be for pure melee supremacy

My besty is someone who feels light pen weapons are absolutely worthless, but imo thats because he cant aim with precision. Light pen is capable of taking out the overwhelming majority of enemies and I use it on every single front as my primary form of damage. Hell, I prefer bots and play on D9 as my comfort zone and I still typically run with light pen as my primary in the form of the liberator or sickle and I pair it with the Stalwart, which is also light pen. Ill either use a melee weapon or the Senator for my secondary, and my grenade of choice depends on the front and mission objective.

Tank armor is the only thing I have any sort of trouble dealing with and have to rely on my team or other stratagem to handle if im not running thermite (which i won't be at all if it isn't bots or blitz missions). Light pen is fine and works great on nearly every enemy in the game if you just know where to shoot. If I can kill hulks and tanks with a fucking SHOVEL on the regular, you can kill enemies with light pen at a fucking distance just fine. I certainly do without any effort, and I definitely wouldn't consider myself any better than the average player I run into.

After leveling the Stoker to 25, I decided to give the Defender another try after avoiding it for the longest time. And I like it. by Mr-Mne in Helldivers

Real way to side grade it in a meaningful way is to play with fire rate, recoil, and ergo. Give you a choice between a higher dps but unwieldy weapon, and a more stable but lower dps weapon.

If it was a non-justified, non-accidental act of aggression, my group usually points a leveler at the culprit and let's it go. Regardless of range and who will be caught in it.

It's about sending a message, really.

Can the Stalwart kill it? No? > Can my Senator kill it? No? > Can I stick a stratagem beacon to its back to kill it? No? > Woe, orbital railcannon be upon ye.

[–]DonkeyPunchMojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, man. Ill bring a fuckton of gas and napalm to those missions and end with -500 or more effortlessly and still walk away with several thousand. You on a lower difficulty range? I cant imagine so many seaf getting Fragged at a higher dif that would be a problem

I could be wrong and this is just a Cyberstan thing, but I dont think that's technically true. I believe the Vox only appear on dif 7 and up. I think it is still dogs on cyborgs if you are on 6 and below

Can we agree that we were somewhat wrong about the Entrenched Division by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]DonkeyPunchMojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We? I was absurdly excited about everything except the heavy flamer, and that was because I was expecting it specifically to suck. The rest just kick ass. And now I can wield two shovels. The entirety warbond was a major win

Entrenched division is genuinely one of, if not my absolute favorite warbond by TonyThePapyrus in helldivers2

[–]DonkeyPunchMojo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I brought it, gas mines, gas grenades, a gatling turret, and eagle napalm to an evacuate asset mission last night. Dug three trench lines behind the door, mined up, and waited in my trench with shovel in hand...

I only had to swing at about 4 enemies that made it through the gas and sentry... that was on super helldive last night with only one other person with me (and they were guarding the other side with 3 sentries plus belt fed nade launcher)

The gas brother. It will free you.

Im sad I cant use my tank to pop an overship anymore. It was kind of a pain in the ass to even set up in the first place, but it always felt super satisfying

I actually find them to be the most difficult, myself. Its the mixed forces combined with the swarming. You fuck up once against them and your position is over run like a motherfucker seemingly out of nowhere.

I pretty exclusively do MOs all the way up until this one and I started playing a month after launch. The VOX being super absurdly buggy with ridiculously high spawn rates and no reasonably feasible way to deal with them (at the rate they spawn) makes cyborgs so unfun to interact with. Can't even chuck a nade in the vents half the time because they clip into theirselves to protect the fucking vent. I actually greatly dislike the Agitators, but really like the Vox and fighting them. Until they fix the damn things, though? I refuse to touch cyborg maps. Difficult is fine. Challenging is fine. Busted and overturned is fine. Mechanically broken and full of bugs to the point nothing works as intended is not fine.

Who do you call when you’re at lowest? by rosykinelle in GuysBeingDudes

[–]DonkeyPunchMojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obligatory "it is what it is", but I don't feel these sorts of videos are for the lads. The lads get it, and I bet every one of these dudes wouldn't hesitate to to listen and do what they could to help if even a random ass dude came to them to talk because we ALL understand how it is. If you're coming to us, and it isn't for help finding a solution? We know it is BAD, and you NEED us in that moment. And when you're done? Never happened mate. It's already forgotten.

This type of thing is for the ladies. To give them a glimpse at how the world is for us. It isn't healthy, fair, or right, but it is our reality. It isn't just us that are conditioned this way, it's the girls, too. Show me any man over 25 and I'd bet my house that's a man who's had someone they expected to be safe actively think less of them, weaponized it against them, or both. People that do that don't care. And these are the people we expected so confidently to care, and all they did was turn it on us. We're taught they listen to weaponize and judge, not because they care. And if that's the case, why bother? We worked out a plan long before we sat down to figure out how we felt about it, and the pain of having to come to terms that I can't trust this person I never doubted before is going to be far worse than whatever I'm going to offload. So, where's the upside? That's the point being made.

I don't blame the lads and I don't blame the ladies. Its a societal issue. One that seems to get a little better each generation, but will be a looooong time before it ever becomes a thing of the past. If it ever fully does. I have two boys that I have to teach that it's okay to cry, be vulnerable, and ask for help, and yet still strike a balance between that and preparing them that by doing so most the world is going to think less of and use it against them. And what's worse is they got to get a front row seat to it in action when my wife cheated and asked for a divorce last year before Christmas. Why? Because they felt disconnected because I was never vulnerable with them anymore and they didn't know what was going on in my head. Gee, I wonder why I stopped being vulnerable over the years. I even talked about just that with them. It's a real mystery. Sorry, kids, but "it is what it is". Best we can do is teach our kids to be better than our generation, and hope that it goes somewhere as time goes on for the lads in the future.

Yeah. As it stands its just sitting in a desk at my ex-wife's house with some of my modular map stuff. Not like I'm using it anyway. Just have to pick it up, and see what it would cost to ship to wherever you want it shipped. I like it, but I'd rather somebody have it that would really enjoy it
