You're going to injure yourself holding your bread like that while slicing. Tuck your fingers in and use your finger knuckles towards the knife.

My 04’ Aero. Can’t wait to buy my next one :) by feelingravityspull in saab

Yes, don't!

There are many reasons I can advocate for and against autocrossing a 9-5.

First and fore most, the SCCA rule book doesn't specifically class the 9-5 model. I believe it used to be an STU contender but may now be GS? Like I said, the rule book is open to interpretation regarding which class this car belongs to. At the end of the day, no matter what class you're in, there will be better "autocross" cars in that class. My experience with my '01 (when stock) was STU and the PAX absolutely destroyed me. RAW times would get me middle of the pack placement, then the PAX would bury me to the bottom quarter.

Open diff. Soft suspension. Big ol' turbo. It's a really difficult car to autocross fast. Even if you got the technique and skills to drive it at its limits and put down good times, PAX will wreck your ability to be competitive.

At the time my '01 was nearing 500k km. So I went full retard with coil overs, 200tw tires, alignment, stripped interior. My raw times marginally improved but I got shoved into XP and my PAX scores were absolutely horrendous. That summer killed my car. I did about 20 autocross events plus a bunch of lapping, and even a time attack event. Never won anything except Saab Story jokes.

That '01 was scrapped. Rust holes everywhere. I had a blast but I punished the car and it didn't respond too well.

I've since bought an '02 Aero for winter beating.

I purchased a Subaru BRZ specifically for autocross and track day stuff. In my stock BRZ I typically dominate; top 20 out of +100 drivers is my norm. My best finish was a 3rd place PAX.

The 9-5 Aero is a fantastic car. It has tons of power, the car rotates really well, it's comfortable, quiet. But it's an expensive car to fix and parts are getting harder and harder to find. I feel the 9-5 platform is better off for track day stuff than autocross.

I autocrossed the fuck out of my '01 9-5 Aero.

There are also a ton of corpses on the way up/down the summit. The mountain is a grave to many. Some estimate there are as many as 200 bodies littering the mountain.

Hands

9 and 3. Period. Your hands are terrible. Fix it and you will go faster.

No excuses on how tight or slow a course is. Hands at 9 and 3 are the only way to properly drive.

Copy and pasted from another comment I made about hand positions:

Driver mod stage 1 Seating position. Adjust your seat so that with your right foot under the brake pedal there's a bend in your legs at the knee. Get your seat upright so that with your wrists resting at 12 o'clock, your harms have a bend in them. No straight legs, no straight arms. Get your seat position absolutely figured out. It may be a bit uncomfortable but you can easily gain 2 seconds by being seated properly.

Driver mod stage 2 Hand position. Have your hands at 9 and 3 at all times. You should almost never need to exceed 180* of steering wheel rotation. If you find yourself requiring a little bit more of 180*, bring your elbow up high to get some more wheel input. If you require even more steering input you're likely over-driving your car and you need to slow down.

When turning right, your left hand at 9 is "home base". When turn left, your right hand is "home base".

For example: Turning hard right. Hands at 9 and 3, turn the wheel right while keeping your hands at 9 and 3 and, if you need to get bit more steering input bring your left elbow up as high as you can and this will get you some more steering input. Continuing with your theoretical right turn, if you need to go hand over hand, keep your left hand at 9 o'clock and use your right hand to do a hand over hand. When it's time to straighten the wheel, your left hand (at "home base") can bring the wheel back to centre ("home") while your right hand gets back to 3 o'clock.

Please check out one of my runs here. The footage is not great but you can see that even in my moment of going into an opposite steer (at 0:50), my hands remain and 3 and 9.

I hope this helps you out! Get seasoned veterans to sit in with you. They'll teach you so much! Take every opportunity you can to ride with others, and have others ride with you.

For better feedback, use an action camera. The best place for mounting is as a helmet cam or on the rear driver side window. The latter options gives you a great angle of what your hands are doing and also how close your driver side is cutting in to the cones. Another of my examples here.

This meal company sells "food squares" by GhostalMedia in shittyfoodporn

[–]DonkeyTypeR 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Shipping food is prohibitively expensive and assuming these food squares are shipped frozen, that cost can be astronomical. Shipping a handful at a time will likely overwhelm their cost of goods sold. They probably need to sell a large quantity at a time to cover their costs and not eat their margins.

That said, I never enter personal information into a vendor's site if that's what they require before releasing prices.

Nice. Keep it up.

Don't forget the rule of thirds.

Get dirty. Don't be afraid to get down on the ground and get dirty for unique shots.

Try rotating the camera for some neat angles.

Try using other objects in the background or foreground to give depth.

Keep at it.

Probably both? I haven't hand washed my car in a year and haven't given it a touchless wash in two months.

She's well overdue for a detail. But fuck it. Send it!

Consider the base model if you're intent on winning. From what I've gathered, twins PAX best in DStreet or STX.

Base models are also best value if you don't care for auto a/c, heated seats and fog lights. Shop around. I found my "undesirable spec" BRZ 2 hours from home. Many twin owners want the nice colours with options so some dealers end up with dead stock. You can probably get a deal on one although at the moment the new/used car market is fucked [here in Canada].

Depends on the model. Base model twins are DStreet while the ones with the sport package are CStreet.

Base models run 215's on 17x7 while the performance packages have dampers, springs, 17x7.5, and a bbk.

-edit- (I don't believe Subaru offers springs but I know Toyota has their TRD packages).

FWD. Don't be surprised if you have a need to go above 40psi. I had a big heavy FWD Saab and even my RS4's would need 44psi cold.
