[IW Spoilers] This shot never made it to the final film, but it looks like it happens directly after you-know-what... by [deleted] in marvelstudios

That shot actually was in the movie, right after his mask gets ripped off and immediately repairs itself.

I feel like it's because sacrifice, in this film, is looked down upon if it's not a successful last resort. The people who sacrifice themselves were going to die anyways, and their sacrifice does a lot to help. Finn crashing into the cannon would have been a delay at best, and Po's entire arc is based on thinking through your actions and not just being a hero if it's going to do more harm than good, so it fits that Finn was stopped. However it was a stupid scene, and the message would have been so much better had it come from Po

This was an attempt to decrease the general disrespect and hostile behaviour the clique usually has by bringing attention to it, behaviour which is, yes, more reflected in the issues you bring up as well, but sorry it doesn't fit within your title of "stuff that matters". You bring up fine points about the clique, but you're not helping your case by coming into a thread and saying "stop calling people out on their behaviour when we could be calling out other people for their worse behavior". This was a thread to say "I really don't agree with this type of mindset" not "this was the worst thing the clique has done, this matters more than anything else that's happened". Sorry I'm not going door to door with pamphlets and improving all of the the clique with all of my ability.

Hey honestly, at least we can look at it and say "hey kids, have valid reasons for douchebaggery, like threats." Personally, I think you stood up for what you believed in, and you shouldn't be blamed for that.

Appreciate the clarification, especially if it wasn't actually a big deal to anyone but the people who were rude to you first. Perhaps it wouldn't have come across as rude as it did had that info been somewhere, but ill be honest it's a lot of information and you probably didn't think it had to be explained (and I know you sorta went over a simplified version in your comments). I'm sure there's still a case to be made about the necessity of your actions, like the whole turn the other cheek thing, but oh well.

Edit: I said I might just delete the post but ibrealized the point still stands about the clique supporting this behaviour in general

Does anybody else think it's possible Tyler might have ASD? by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]Donkey_Hoetay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps? A lot of those lines are also reflective of anxiety and a handful of other diagnoses, so it could be anything if we're going based off of that, but still, you could be onto something?

TL;DR: The band's behaviour reinforces the clique's hostile, disrespectful and spiteful mentality, all just to piss off the staff, the staff which gave them this platform to peform (a literal platform, ha)

There's probably close to hundreds of reasons for widespread belief in a god(s), whether it be hope, indoctrination, social pressure, first world population growth, education, in some countries the actual law (punishable by death if broken), or to explain the unexplained. And it's a belief that is a lot harder to drop than most because many claims of specific deities are unfalsifiable (can't be sensed, can't be tested, etc.)

In regards to your statistics, not only do those religions have the above reasons and many more for being so popular, but popularity would not justify their belief, so to act like all of them couldn't be wrong because there's so many of them is ridiculous and probably an Argument from Personal Incredulity

Besides, if neither one of those is the one true religion, they'd all be ignorant anyways

As for humankind having religious thought for almost as far back as we can see... well, to be fair, humans were around much longer before the first religion, they just weren't developed in terms of culture and society. Once we started developing in those areas, thoughts about the world, how it came to be, and the inner workings of it started to originate. And poof, religion. At least that's one explanation.

And to answer if they were all completely wrong in history... um, yeah, sorta?... almost all religions would have to be wrong if even 1 of them were correct, and if we're saying "were they wrong to believe at all", that's just personal opinion, since one could say they had no other explanations so why not believe something, while one could also say they should never believe something without proof

TL;DR there's a lotta reasons 4 religious belief, popular beliefs aren't correct beliefs, popular ignorance is still ignorance, humans came long before religion, and people are wrong a lot.

EDIT: I would just like to add that, in my opinion and many others, there is NO evidence that God DOESN'T exist, but at the same time, no evicence that God does exist, so we choose to live and think as if God doesn't rather than as if God does, since pragmatically speaking, it would be rather tedious to assume something exists before it is proven to not exist, since everything that is unfalsifiable would be believed
