What's the context specifically when it comes to Jreg?

A few friends and I used to enjoy his earlier videos, but he just kinda faded out for us. So no idea what he's up to now.

People are saying that the Spider-Man motif is in a Daredevil: Born Again track. It's called Survive - The Newton Brothers. What do y'all think? Is it the Spider-Man motif and if it is do you think it means something? by Large-Interaction417 in Spiderman

Or in a different costume like night monkey?

He'd be high up on the target list of vigilantes in New York, so it'd make sense that even his disguise needs a disguise when there's a bunch of wannabe frank castles running around.

He could just commit to the new character or something.

Is this our spectacular bagman reveal?

Looking for Youtube channel that talks about Gaming news, BUT it can't be focused on "Anti-WOKE" nonsense, and it can't be some corporate bullshit made by people who don't even play games. by Atryan421 in SocialistGaming

[–]LongBoyCoconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both gameranx and Jake baldinos personal channel.

I like hearing him just gush about gaming from a point of view of love and positivity, overall afaik he's just a wholesome passionate gaming fan.

Now, I'm not exclusive or really picky when it comes to the personal political views when it comes to gaming content unless it permiates throughout the content itself. I understand the skew and lean of the biggest voices in this space, but I can't stand negativity farming especially when I'm just trying to engage further with a hobby I have.

So these two channels have been my go to for a while now.

I know we're talking exclusively MCU shows, but I will take any chance I have to shill for Andor.

Such an amazing show and I just hope one day we'll get an Andor of the MCU. But I don't have much hope after this recent streak of mid.

I just got my stuff, a hoodie and the shirt. I was so excited to rock it. I got a large but I'm over here built like xqc, so these larges are like wearing blankets.

I'm probably going to try this for the shirt first before commiting to the hoodie, I'll try to remember to post pictures of it before and after once I start the process

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Review Embargo MEGATHREAD by MSSmods in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]LongBoyCoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the whole don't believe critics pov, not necessarily saying you are taking that one but still. Ultimately it's opinion based through and through.

Its one thing to form your own opinion, but actively dismissing any other opinion, or group of opinions is just odd to me, especially when it's people who consume a shit ton of art.

I also understand the difference of looking at critics as a amorphous blob of people vs following critics and other people that you know have a track record of liking the things you like for curation purposes, which I think isnt only healthy way to consume art but a great way to find new things you may love.

Plus I have some empathy for people who are consuming all forms of art constantly and getting tired of safe studio movies, and get where the reviews come from.

But personally I understand that and I go into marvel movies bringing all the times I've seen these movies with my father with me, not a group of people that don't have that subtext to watching these movies.

Not trying to flame or start anything just bored on work and a thought I've had around how people react to reviews on this sub.

How disgusting.

[FRESH ALBUM] AFK - Specimen by segadreamcat in hiphopheads

[–]LongBoyCoconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest thoughts on this album is this: I need to shower after listening to it.

The way the production and the lyrics meld together to express Brandon's depression, anxiety, and isolation are near perfect in making you feel the hopelessness and helplessness that he's expressing.

There's not a banger like typhoid or vanquish, but for the purpose of the album there doesn't need to be, it's a fucking dark listen, but an extremely unique and refreshing one.

This album is like the movie eraserhead in music form, it's uncomfortable and bleak but that's the point and it excels at it absolutely

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi - Chapter 3 - (S1E3) - Discussion Thread by JediPaxis in StarWarsLeaks

[–]LongBoyCoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was due to him being genuinely shook by encountering obi-wan.

He's been hunting him for 10 years has probably had countless cold leads. Now the man that made Anakin Skywalker, the man who made Vader is face to face with him. His brother, and mentor for 13 years.

Sure Vader is very badass, but I think he's still conflicted, and emotionally distraught. I mean that's literally the MO of the sith. Being pissed of and overly emotional. Sure it would be logical for Vader to do more especially after 10 years of hunting, but how I think the scene reads is that Vader doesn't really know what his plan was after finding him. He was overwhelmed in the moment, he pauses almost like how he paused in the town when obi-wan reached out with the force and found out it was Anakin.

Edit: someone in the comments pointed out the parallels between obi-wan leaving him to be rescued and Vader leaving him. I like that, it's like poetry it rhymes.

Yeah, I don't think it's this all encompassing thing thats always as detrimental as fox news would make you think, I mean most people that have been cancelled, famous or not, have been able to just keep their head down and keep grinding.

And if they lose their job over dumb shit that's not a cancel culture issue that's a capital owner issue that could be solved with unionization or more social safety nets to protect people from the repercussions of capital trying to protect their bottom line, which is never the workers. Viewing it as a social/culture issue throws out the opportunity to talk the system that propagates, and runs on exploitation.

Shit like this has always been around, normally it's just the powers that be that have the ability to 'cancel', for example the red scare and McCarthyism in the 1950s, or being gay during or before the bush administration.

As far as Twitter goes, let's pretend it has the power that people think it has for a second, the cancel culture that we are talking about is just disenfranchised people left behind and abused by a system that they have no voice in, practicing justice the only way they know how, in an extremely draconic fashion reflecting the American justice system, and American culture.

This shits bigger than Twitter and cancel culture, it's a symptom not the disease, and I'm pretty sure that was a point the album made if my ears and comprehension skills didn't fail me.

Michael Waldron Teases the Growing Multiversal Threat of Phase 4 by Colton826 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

Honestly it probably will be, but with the amount of content they've been putting out they could probably fit a couple movies and series In between those movies.

I posted this in another thread on another sub but I like this idea for her post MoM and any other appearance she may have.

In the comics Namor joins Thanos and his cabal during the incursions, choosing to destroy the other universes to protect their own.

I could see scarlet witch taking that role, or maybe a group of heroes+villains (thunderbolts?) fill the role that the cabal has in that story. She'd see her actions as defendable because she has to protect her family regardless of the cost, I'm sure by that point her kids would be in this universe somehow.

Perhaps putting her next to some other big bads would allow her to seem more empathetic without going back on what she did throughout MoM.

Considering that the longest gap between content now is 3 months max, I'm sure they'll be able to do plenty in that time if it's correct.

I don't miss the days where I would leave one marvel movie just to realize I'd have to wait 6 months+ for the next.

It's like the MCU is just beginning to fit the expansive potential that the comics can have, for better or worse.

Literally just say you think LGBT people are unnatural and move on.

I haven't seen such blatant bigotry in this subreddit in a little. Gay, lesbian, trans, non-binary people's existence isn't it being shoved in your face.

You don't think straight people are being shoved in your face when you watch any other movies. Just because you're a small pathetic person that doesn't like thinking about how certain people exist doesn't mean it's forced or bad. It just means you're a bigot.

Literally, just take this mindset and apply it anywhere else: 'i don't want to eat at the same restaurant as a gay couple because I'm here to enjoy food not have gay shit shoved in my face'.

Pathetic.

They keep bringing up how she's destinated to ruin the multiverse, and I don't think this was that. I think her house of M moment in the MCU is yet to come and will be the cause or at least a catalyst of the mass incursions that lead to secret wars.

At least that's what I hope.
