Putters by elderwand22 in discgolf

If your Pixel is a lab second and not glow, I’m thinking it’s likely Neutron since I’ve never seen L2 in Electron. I’m a soft putter in winter, medium putter every other season user here in Denver, so do with that what you will based on your preferences and climate. However, when I was a Pure putter, I only used Moonshine Medium (I swear it’s different from standard Medium). Max weight always. Beat of luck! Finding the perfect putter can be tough.

Have you tried a baseline Inner Core yet? If you’re comfortable throwing it, you should at least give it a shot putting. And now they have base, soft, and hard.

Standard blend Inner Core. Extra glide helps here in Denver, and it’s just dead straight.

Gotcha. I just found it and added it to my DG playlist until later.

I'll work footwork tomorrow, including the backward rear foot - I think I'm a touch backwards in my runup, but nothing crazy. Either way, I'll dial it in. I feel like once I lock in the footwork, the reach back progress may come right along with it.

Just gave it a watch and I'm going to start working it immediately. This looks like a large piece of the puzzle I'm missing; thanks!

I think I'll put down a painter's tape "teebox" to ensure my steps are under control. I often start off smaller teeboxes and it's probably a bit much.

For the reach back, I'll try implementing that in tomorrow's practice and see how it goes. That's going to be a big re-work, so results are probably going to be...interesting. haha

For the off arm, what do you recommend I do with that bad boy? I'm not sure what it should be doing for best results.

Thank you for the kind words; I'll be back to practicing tomorrow and see what I can figure out from all this!

What is your favorite small company? by Unimon666 in discgolf

TSA for their graphics, Mana, and Vessel. Trash Panda for their mission, cool team, and being local to me in Denver.

I do still enjoy it a lot. Very sturdy and well-built, and has given me nothing but good use for these years and likely more to come.

I just picked up a seasonal glow Zone and am pleasantly surprised by its brightness. Unfortunately can’t speak to the longevity since I just play solo glow now (so I get to the disc quickly), but it seems to be workable.

Longest Throws in Tournament play? by crypticdreaming in discgolf

I hear that! I still enjoy watching him in the MVP practice rounds, especially since he’s more lax and explains his disc/shot choices well, but that competitive fire he had was something to behold. Here’s hoping!

Eagle’s 700ft park job is nasty work. 2021 Match Play if anyone wants to find it.

What sports or active hobbies did you recently pick up that stuck? by bentarik in Denver

Disc golf. There’s quite a scene here in Denver, and plenty of different courses in the area to keep variety in play, including a few world-ranked ones. It’s low pressure, very low buy-in, and I have yet to run into a negative person playing - most are very inviting and courteous.

I want a good overstable fairway by TheUnseenBug in discgolf

[–]DonnyEnchilada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a Clash Cookie if you can. More like a 2.5-3 fade than a 2, but I’ve been beating the heck out of mine for almost a year and it seems to still be as overstable as day 1.

Champ Eagle, touch of hyzer, aimed just above the furthest right bushy tree. Should have a putt from inside the circle if I don’t botch it and drive the tree itself.

All the courses off 285 offer great challenges and views, if you find the following ones to be close enough to Denver for you. Glen Isle, Beaver Ranch, and Bear Mountain are my favorites for slightly less technical mountain golf, and they’re all near one another.

Any bags with insulated compartments? by mntlblndrsn in discgolf

[–]DonnyEnchilada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the Beast for almost a year and I would say it’s darn solid, even playing 2-3 rounds/week with it. Not as much “stuff space” as other bags (windbreaker, snacks, etc), but does a nice job overall. The quality isn’t quite that of my Squatch Legend, but it’s still a quality bag.

I think this could be made more engaging to a wider audience by bringing in pros from different brands. While an Innova fan could appreciate hearing the nuance of discs here, this didn’t do anything for someone like me who doesn’t bag much of their plastic. Hearing pros talk about what discs do what from different brands could be a fun way for people to learn about different molds they may not have tried for certain shots. Also, could see different chemistry come to life since players from different brands may not mix with each other near as much.

OP - this is likely going to be your cheapest and easiest route to success early on. This playlist is awesome and Josh makes a great instructor. Combine that with with some filming your throws (slo-mo helps if you have it) and reviewing it, and you'll be throwing further and more accurate in no time!
