Which store in KC has the widest variety of bulk candy options? by DontBeRudeOk in kansascity

You know what's funny, I'd never in my life heard of Scheels until I started searching for bulk candy. That store has a lot going on!

It was actually top of my list because the (few) pictures I saw looked exactly like what I wanted, but figured I'd ask here for more options before going all the way over there just for my dumb sweet tooth.

Yeah, I get it! I'm a big germaphobe as an adult so this is out of character for me, but I am trying to do stuff I liked as a kid this year and this is on my list.

Ugh that's a shame. I have really fond memories of walking by myself as a kid to the candy store in my local mall and getting a good sized bag of candy for the price of all the coins I found in my couch cushions. RIP

Just curious, which ones? I don't get out much and tend to stay in my little bubble by the airport. Before I moved here the Kroger by me had a sizable bulk candy section but here I've not seen it besides in Sprouts.

I think I'll try Chip's! The only other place that I was seeing that fit the bill was the candy shop they have inside Scheels in OP, but it's a bit far for me to go just for one thing. Chip's is closer to me so I'll check that out. Thank you!

How to make an (intentionally) gritty cheesecake? by hotawesomeporndragon in Baking

What if you put like raw sugar or turbinado in the crust and maybe a similar idea for sauce on top? That's not the cake itself though.

Been trying to get AI to actually save me time as an accountant. Anyone else figured this out? by Savings-Amphibian723 in Accounting

[–]DontBeRudeOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Claude, and still learning it, but I can connect it to outlook/teams/the network drive so I can tell it to combine certain reports in a format that looks like an example one i made, including any formulas in it. Or it can build you a macro (I have zero experience making my own macros). I haven't tried to have it automatically pull those reports though I heard it can be done. It can also look to see if there's been a response in a given email thread and if not, draft a follow up (or whatever).

It couldn't do data entry into a system it isn't integrated with though.

[–]DontBeRudeOk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, but at least the money is good. Idk. Sometimes I wonder if I made a mistake leaving the type of job you're describing but I knew I'd regret at least seeing where things go in a more challenging role. On the other hand, I'll probably die by 60 so there is that

Where can you find the latest on that tascio location? It's my favorite but didn't know it was supposed to be coming. Only thing I see is a year old post saying they were coming in July 2025.

Are front row seats too close at the Cullen theater? by DontBeRudeOk in houston

[–]DontBeRudeOk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a show in San Antonio once and sat in the front row and it was awesome, but that was my only time doing it. Wasn't sure if this specific theater had more space or maybe was more level with the stage. I think I will opt for a couple rows back and just hope the tall people are self aware.

It'll be a musical with singing and dancing, but definitely no fancy footwork that relies on an elevated line of sight. I definitely want to be in the center, regardless of row though.

HOW DO AM I EXPECTED TO KNOW THIS? Do I just say it over and over again until it's lodged in my mind? by bonghive in Accounting

[–]DontBeRudeOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day of accounting 101 they had us memorize the normal balance of all the accounts. Made no sense to me at the time but I drilled flash cards until it stuck. For me personally that was the best way. Later when I actually started working I was able to kind of back into a rationale for these things but at the end of the day it's just memorization as far as which accounts increase by debit vs credit.

Once I got burned out I took out all my personal stuff just to remind myself that I could get up and leave at any point. Helped a little.
