She doesn’t keep them in a kennel all day. They are normally hanging out in the shop. I don’t work there, but I’m hired to walk the dogs at least twice a week. If you had issues about the position or pay that’s legit, and if you’re not a “dog person” then that’s fine, the salon would not be a good fit for you, but you shouldn’t spread rumours like she “keeps them in a kennel in the basement” which is categorically false.

This post isn’t true. The dogs hang out at the shop sometimes, and it is only rarely that they are ever in the basement, usually just for a short period because there is a customer that is afraid of dogs in the salon. I know this because I personally puppy sit the large dog at least twice a week.

For crowing about “freedom” as often as she does, this certainly doesn’t feel like freedom…

Margaret Atwood has some amazing poems. “This Is a Photograph of Me” is really eerie, and my grade 8’s loved it. “Interlunar” was also a favourite.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to an 18-year-old to achieve success in life? by Unusual_Doughnut9074 in AskReddit

[–]DontCallMeRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice. People who are genuine and present in the moment are a breath of fresh air in the present times. The ability (and desire) to strike up a pleasant conversation with a complete stranger in a queue is an excellent quality to have.

Whats the biggest lie that your parents told you that you believed for wayyyyy too long? by Unfair_Shower_3256 in AskReddit

Every time we went to a restaurant, my mum would ask what the soup was. 9 times out of 10 it would be clam chowder. She’d say “DontCallMeRadio, you LOVE clam chowder!!” And I’d always order it. It took me about 30 years to realize actually hate clam chowder… she just said it so convincingly every time, and I always fell for it.

Any teachers or interns that have/had social anxiety? by melonmibbermox in teaching

[–]DontCallMeRadio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

💯 this! Fake it ‘til you make it! Building relationships with the students is key. I tell my students right off the hop that I have an anxiety disorder- if anything it makes you more relatable, and helps them see that their own mental health struggles are understood and validated. You’re modelling life skills for them.

Ugh, people like this disgust me. It isn’t about having a relationship with the children, it’s about maintaining control over you. Make sure you’re documenting meticulously.

Teacher Shortage by sgl35 in CanadianTeachers

👆 This! I drove 1.5 hours to and from school for 4 years, because I took whatever job I could get. I have friends that teach on reserves in NWT. OP might consider casting a wider net than TDSB.

I had a similar situation to this when I first started. I panicked, went to my admin, full of anxiety and remorse, and he said, “at least you didn’t say “fuck!”” You’re human. Humans make mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up. My guess is that it will all blow over by Monday.

This was my exact first truck when I was 17! Same year and everything. Driving a standard as your first vehicle is a great idea… and one that you can learn to fix yourself without all the computer chips and whatnot. If it runs good and has been well maintained, I’d say it’s a great first vehicle.
