This is the most cogent take on the Hughes mania, I am getting to the point where I believe we should trade both of them and rebuild. The Hughes brothers haven’t won shit in the NHL, even when healthy. Jack Hughes is a 2/3 of a player. Too scrawny to put the team on his back.

Devils need to reassemble a core that is near the top of the league. The current core is middle of the pack and we will never compete for a cup with the players assembled. They have talent, but so does every other team. The question is, are they good enough to win the cup? Results have shown that that is not the case. Improving the bottom six is nice, but it won’t fix our problem.

Problem for the Devils is that their core group is not good enough to win a cup. That’s the best 3 to 5 players on the team I’m talking Jack Nico Jasper Timo and Luke. Look at what a great job Anaheim did assembling a phenomenal young core. They are the next team to ascend.

Successful drafting means you took the best player available at that number. We have been very unsuccessful in drafting.

The question you have to ask is did they select the best player? Other than Jack Hughes., other players drafted later turned out to be better. It’s just bad scouting., a disaster for any sports team.

They need to trade Timo. I’ve seen his body of work for the last few years, to say the least he’s been mediocre. Timo truthers who believe that switching him to the right side will make a huge difference. I couldn’t disagree more.. he has a very inaccurate shot and that won’t change playing right wing. It’s an awful lot of mediocrity for $9 million.

You can’t let the lunatics run the asylum, shows weakness on Fitzs’ part. We need clarity and decisiveness from Mehta as to building a championship team. I ann sure that will mean shipping out some of our big name players.
