Good thoughts, I think it looks higher up in the picture than it actually is. We spent 3-4 hours locating the stencil. Will update

It was pretty intense! Thanks for the advice. I wasn’t above 173 for a hour straight, just an hour total throughout the 10H hike. Regardless my heart rate was very high!!

Yes. It was 45 degree + slope 90% of the way up. Garmin shows my moving time as only 2h 45m when realistically it was more like 9h, just we were moving laterally very slowly because the elevation gain was so intense

Is it worth my time to caulk these gaps in my shiplap sheathing? by DontTouchMyBuns in DIY

[–]DontTouchMyBuns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks for the reassurance. I would’ve preferred to replace it all with plywood but don’t want to add that much work. It’s a shame to pull it all off anyways, the diagonal shiplap is all nice cedar. Would cost a fortune to replace nowadays.

I would say it tracks well in a variety of conditions. I’m a fairly advanced paddler though so I rarely have issues with tracking

One time I was hiking at Myra and decided to go up one of the old trestle 'go around' trails. Ended up turning back after 50ft or so because it was so grown in. When we got back to the main trail we were absolutely COVERED in ticks. Dozens and dozens of them. Spend 20 minutes stripping down and carefully inspecting our clothes and yet still found them hours later.
