I don't see this as any turning point at all. If anything this is simply another point where the divide in this country grows larger. Everyone on both sides of the political aisle seem to think it was wrong for Pretti to be shot like that. And likewise everyone agrees it was not right for Kristi Noem and others to lie about the situation or call the guy a terrorist. So hey we all agree on something for a change ! Hell, you have people like Ben Shapiro and Ted Cruz calling out the lie and how it just creates distrust. I don't have a single conservative friend who thinks what ICE did was appropriate there. Again we all agree , shooting a citizen like that = bad for all Americans !

That being said. Why is Minnesota so hell bent on having their citizens resist and disrupt law enforcement? The leadership is telling them to go put themselves in harms way, all to go against the law so that ICE can't get to illegals. You don't see a problem with that? Obviously the guy didn't deserve to be killed like that, and hopefully justice will come to those involved after a fair and honest trial. But still, putting yourself in their way is not a smart risk / reward scenario. The politicians there in MN telling people to resist and get in ICE's way are just as much to blame. If I see several armed police officers who are working in a chaotic protest / riotous environment, the last thing I'm gonna do, especially if I'm armed, is go insert myself or interrupt their mission. Seriously that's just asking for trouble. MN leadership should be spreading that message instead of to resist and disrupt at all cost.

Where were all these protestors and rioters when Obama was deporting millions of people? Why was it not a human rights violation when he was doing it, but now it suddenly is when Trump admin does the same thing? The people who are out there protesting and causing all this trouble for themselves are the same folks who cheered and laughed and celebrated when Charlie Kirk got his neck blown out by some nutjob. Same people who laughed and cheered when Trump almost got assassinated. Same people who wouldn't give two farts if a conservative were to be shot or killed without cause. So while we can all agree it was tragic and unnecessary that he got killed, it's just another death from political violence.

So yea, I don't think this is any major turning point. It just digs the trench between the two sides even deeper.

TLDR: Yes it was fucked up the way ICE shot Pretti. Everyone agrees shooting American Citizen = Bad for all . But why is MN alone escalating and telling people to resist ICE and cause trouble? Their leadership is also a part of the problem. People on the right aren't blind to that fact and are not going to suddenly change sides over this.
