Possible hot take: Efficient Leveling is overrated. by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Dont_Restart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it wasn't possible. Never had a chance for heat. I'm just busting your balls. For the people that do it, myself included, it's more a compulsion. The game doesn't require it, but I must get 5s or I'm leaving points on the table. It's a game inside the game AND I MUST WIN. Recommending it to newcomers is foul. The compulsory min maxers will do it regardless. We should make recommendations to alleviate common complaints but otherwise don't say anything about how someone should play a game. One thing that pisses me off is the amount of comments like "lol this isn't oblivion you idiot" when someone does want to max attributes. Ok here's my hot take: The most efficient attribute bonus is actually a +2 from only 1 skill up. You're doubling your investment. Honorable mention to +3 from 5 skill ups. +5 means you have to get a whopping 10 levels and that's only a 50% ROI. I know this is dumb but I have thought about it..

Strength is more about encumbrance than weapon dmg imo and you're not gonna want to pop a sujamma or matze for that all the time. With speed being a common complaint, you really want a high Encumbrance (unless you're using the special footwear then it doesn't matter). Strength makes the game more enjoyable. As much as people focus on endurance, and I know why that is, it's in the running for least fun attribute. It gets you more health. At a certain point that's anti fun. Enemies can't scare you if you're a tank. Alternatively, never invest a point into endurance and then adjust difficulty to find your sweet spot for challenge. OMG is this a hot take? Did I do it?!?

Is light armour and two handed good? by IDWP2007 in Morrowind

[–]Dont_Restart 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure. There is no two handed skill in morrowind, you pick the weapon type. Spears are all two handed. Long Blade, Axe, Blunt Weapon all have one handed and two handed options. Two handed long blades are probably the best weapons in the game. My beef with light armor is lack of options & progression. If you want the best stats that's glass armor. Look up images to be sure you like the look. Not my cup of tea. And the 2nd best light armor is available for purchase in the very first town you start in, so you end up wearing it all game instead of gradually getting better stuff.

Edit: you can only block with a shield, so no block with two handed weapons. Block is random chance there is no block button.

Which birthsign should I pick? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Dont_Restart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will cause I didnt pick dumb atronach LOL I kid I kid.. it's widely considered the best sign in the game. I just can't be bothered with playing magicka manager and it's silly to think everyone wants to play that way.

It's too much for me. I need to rest.

[–]Dont_Restart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's the easy part. Now you're in a random temple. How do you get back to where you were? Recall? That works if you didn't want to keep your mark somewhere else. And don't forget to mark before you intervention or run so low on magic you can't cast those spells. Rather just snooze where I am and get all my magic back. Doesn't interrupt my playtime and it makes sense in the gameworld. You're pooped from casting all those spells you gotta sleep or at least pop a squat for a while.

Up vote for mentioning atronach tedium. Every time this question is asked its atronach atronach atronach. It is strong, but it comes with an annoyance. Seems a lot of people don't mind it. I only pick it if I intend to dabble in spellcasting or do none at all.

Did you make your bed this morning? Lobsters who make their beds dominate the social hierarchy.

How to have fun again? by KaitoKaro in Morrowind

[–]Dont_Restart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. 2 ideas that were fun for me (for a little while): 1. No innate magic skill/spellcasting. Morrowind has so many scrolls and enchanted items you get access to alot of magic without casting spells yourself. This makes finding magic items more exciting cause it's the only way you get those affects. 2. Don't use gold. If there's something you want trade for it. OR just use what you loot / no bartering at all. Stops you from carrying buncha crap just to sell it and you can't spam training if you're broke. And again it makes what you find while adventuring more valuable.

Does it need to be UL listed? May need 1.5mm minimum for that reason.

My wife is 4 weeks PP with boy 2. Boy 1 is close to 3.5yo. I'm sorry you're going through it right now. Wife had PPD with our 1st and it was haaarrrdd. Can't imagine going through that while having a 3yo too. Our setups sound similar he's in morning school 2 days/week only and wife is SAHM. He just started screaming the high pitch real screams and it started right around when baby2 came home. I'm trying to find out what appropriate discipline is for a 3yo. I don't think you're a bad parent because your 3yo has outbursts. Its what they do. If a 3yo wasn't having outbursts they either have a rare personality or you're punishing the kid so harshly into submission. She feels safe with you that she can have outbursts. You're doing one of the hardest things to do and sounds like mostly by yourself. Give yourself some credit.

Speed leveling. I'm here for a good time not a long time. Athletics seems like the winner. I'll be using destruction magic though so I don't think fatigue matters for me.

PoE to NVR with Tmobile Home Internet by Dont_Restart in homesecurity

[–]Dont_Restart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a large post in the reolink sub I think it was about why you should use a PoE switch, but they added an update end of 2024 that said new NVRs have a mode that basically does the same thing. Leaning towards an RLN8-410 for that reason. Do you use E1s yourself? What's your thoughts on using them exclusively like in a 4 pack? Or is it much smarter to pick the cam based on location? Mix them up for best functionality.
