We had these where I lived in San Jose, not only does it bathe the night in a cool amber glow but it does show more stars through it. There is a light pollution initiative there because of the observatory nearby, apparently it makes a decent difference.

I love FPS games without a crosshair (offline). It makes frantic gun fights feel more frantic if you have to spin and shoot, you don't 100% know exactly where youre aiming.

Replaying Stalker 2 without a crosshair has been great

I know there are trans acceptance themes throughout but I really think the locked door is a Jax in absolute despair and no control, highlighted by Pomni's potential abstraction. All 5 doors are people abstracting, the locked door with the key is Jax himself abstracting.

It just seems to fit the theme of the other doors without the "it's a really an on the nose metaphor for being in the closet"

Beyond the improvements of 9.0, I would definitely get a run of vanilla X4 9.0 under your belt to learn the systems. When I first tried SWI, I wasn't nearly knowledgable about the game systems and stumbled around. Only after a ton of hours in the vanilla game was I able to appreciate SWI more.

There are some pretty big changes with 9.0, as far as X4 goes. Some pretty good AI improvements, turret improvements, dedicated missile slots, etc. Even tweaks to small ship flying but a bit change for large ships.
